I started up an auto blog 5 months ago based on the Shez Blog method. Following that method it was setup to get all its traffic from twitter. Well recently its started to get like 99% of its traffic from google and hardly any from twitter. Since it was set up that way I dont have any specific keywords that im targeting, its simply a blog about cell phones, and the main keyword of the site is very competitive and theres no way in hell I could ever rank for it.

Heres some stats, its averaging 115 UV a day, all long tail keywords from google. It has 496 indexed pages, and 1 backlink. Auto blog is setup to pull products from amazon, and videos from youtube.

My question is, how can I get more traffic to this site. Since im not targeting any keywords Im not really sure what to do. Should I do a few xrumer blasts and build some backlinks, should I post more frequently and get more moduels for WP Robot to post content other than amazon/youtube?

This site is earning me some alright cash on amazon, and I changed the theme up and am getting a decent CTR for adsense. I feel this blog has some good potential and I want to maxamize profits. So what are your suggestions?

Well I added the yahoo answers module, and the article module to WP Robot to pull more content. I think its posting about 50 new posts a day. Hopefully with more pages getting added/indexed ill attract more traffic.

The obvious way to get more traffic is to promote your website with social bookmarking and Youtube videos. I'll be honest though, I set up my 40+ autoblogs to run on auto-pilot and all that promoting is too much like work for me.

It sounds like your AB is doing well and making some steady income which is pretty good. Have you considered leaving the AB alone for a while and start a couple more based on what you have learned?

My oldest AB is almost 6 months old. It currently gets almost 10K UVs daily. I'm as surprised as anyone about that. I did some social bookmarking early with the site and then just left it alone. Beyond that, I have done zero SEO work on it. It just keeps growing and aging like fine wine :)) I think in a couple of months your blog will also continue to grow.

I think sometimes the best thing action is no action.

    Continued good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I actually have about 15 autoblogs setup but this is the only one thats getting decent traffic and its the newest one out of all of them. The rest get less than 10 visits a day.

I agree with Isendale. Best action is no action. I leave my AB's alone after the first couple days of building. Learned the hard way, but worked out in the end. I kept putting in time/effort to drive traffic. Instead, I sat back, narrowed the focus on my keywords, put up quality content, and watched the traffic develop.

90 days later, I usually hit top 1-5 for specific keyword strings.

The ones I continually put effort into are still sucking hind tit. Build them right, leave them alone. If built right, the traffic will come.

How do you guys know your AB's are getting these number of visitors? My statpress says I get about 75 each day but my adsense says much lower number of impressions (between 10 and 25). This suggests my statpress is counting bots as UV, no?

I advise you to dump Statpress. It is unreliable.

Some people here would argue with me but, I use G00gle Analytics to track UVs. It matches very well with Ad$en$e impressions. There are other WP plugins out there, but I've had little success with them.

In response to the question "Can you make any money with ABs?" the short answer is yes. IMHO though you will need more than a few ABs in your portfolio before you can expect to see any real success.

I have 45 ABs currently that I've built since May. My daily income over the past 6 months is in direct relationship to the maturity of my ABs. So :

    AB*t=$

About 20% of my ABs generate 80% of my income. That does make me nervous in a way I'll admit. ABs are a number game in a way. The more you make the better your chances of getting a winner.
(But, as I like to point out, I'm new at this and what do I know?)
