I know quora would have looked my stop. Anyways I trust BHWians more, since they are straight forward and practical. I want to start as an Indian exporter, since i have a know how of product that sells abroad. My connection with suppliers is my advantage. Now what's pending would be an IEC code and export council membership. I have doubts about getting IEC code.
IEC application asks me for company name and address.
How much would it cost to register such company legally in India?
    What would be the procedure?
Would I have to rent office space necessarily for becoming an exporter?
We live in govt quarters here, head of the family works for government. Am i allowed to give house address as company address? I
If not, can i give address of own house in native place as company address?
Would such an action make it a case of commercial electricity bill and house tax?
Anyone who is exporting already or have an idea about it, please help. Thanks in advance

Don't know about India but in the UK you can rent office address, so you don't actually need a real office. They answer phone and forward mail etc.

Forgot to mention you can rent prestigious addresses, even though you live nowhere near them, I did one in London so it looked good
