Feeling like I'm totally late to the party. Where to begin?

Hi all. I have never been active on Facebook, although I've had a personal page for a couple years. Don't have a lot of friends. I've built a Facebook page recently to promote my Kindle book (non-fiction). Now, I don't expect anyone to take me by hand and tell me what to do, but I would appreciate a tip or two on where I could/should get started. This is what I've done so far (with practically no results to show for):

    1. Liked a few other pages in my niche (that I do happen to like anyway).
    2. Liked some comments on those pages that are related to my niche.

I know there is a lot of info on Facebook marketing, but sifting through all that is not an easy task. My book--just to give you an idea--is on traveling free on frequent miles and points. Thanks.

Really? No one wants to help a newbie? No one has favorite youtube videos or other tutorials they can recommend? Come on, fellows, I'm not really asking for handouts:).

you already said there's a lot of info already on facebook marketing on this forum.

    so start sifting.

people aren't going to take time out of their day to help you for free. learn like everyone else did.. and read.

    this isn't a cliffnote business.

Thanks TU. Actually I did read your article before posting, and it's very useful. I am confused about one thing, though. You said Facebook doesn't let fanpages to post on your wall, however all pages I've "liked" post on my (personal page) wall. Or did I misunderstand? Thanks.
