Feedback thread. This is not the official competition/giveaway.

    Hey guys,

Since I first joined BHW - I've had the opportunity to speak with nearly hundreds of members on here,
learn their story, help them, learn from them and get inspired.

Even though I make a decent amount in IM, I still love to read all these $10/day goal threads - it's inspiring,
brings me back memories from when I just started out.

I have tried, with various success, different AMA threads. I think it's time for something different, and possibly more rewarding.

I was inspired by the 48-Hour challenge by @TheBizCat, but with a 'twist'.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So - what am I talking about?

    ## A weekly challenge between all who want to join in.
    ## Monitor/log PC usage using various tools (e.g RescueTime, Timecamp, Hubstaff etc)

    ## The one with the most* logged work-related time per week wins $100.
    ## Every Monday, the counter resets and you have a new chance to win $100

    ## Win all weeks (4) in a month => bonus of $200 (total of $600 per month)

    Example of report (using RescueTime)
    https://i.gyazo.com/7833eded5990d972d2ab87ea9c2aab1f.png

    * = Each contestant much provide a report (brief) of the weeks tasks. This should include what you've been working on,
challenges you face, what you've learned, interesting findings and more.

This brief will be used for Moderators to pick you as a winner. JUST logging your hours without providing any value won't qualify.
Obviously you don't need to share sensitive or private information such as website urls.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

    Summary:
    1) Contestants log their PC activity using Rescue Time (or similar tools)
    2) Each Sunday, contestants provide report of activity + text brief
    3) I will pick 10 people with most hours + valid brief of the week
    4) Moderators will pick 1 winner based on hours + how valuable your brief is.
    5) The competition resets each Monday
    6) If you win 4 weeks in a month - you get a $200 bonus ($600 total/month)

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The rules I've come up with so far:
    1) Must show screenshots of report from RescueTime (or whatever tool will be decided upon)
    2) Must give semi-detailed brief - with nice value to others
    3) Must have joined BHW before 2019
    4) Must have over 50 posts
    5) Must have PayPal, Payoneer or be able to receive CC payments
    6) Must provide everything in thread, not in PM

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So my question to you guys - what do you think?
Do you think it can be helpful for beginners to earn a little extra, by doing nothing but working hard on their own projects?

Any rules that I'm missing that can be good to have?

Is there any better tool than RescueTime for logging application and browser activities, and categorizing them?

    Thanks a lot!
    Emil

In my opinion, this is a really great idea and I believe it would lead to some interesting journeys from which many members may learn new things.

    Fully supporting this.

    Best Regards,
    Jaymien.

Hello and thanks for your original idea.
    I think you must a little bit simplify this. ;^}

    Thanks man!

It surely is an opportunity for a lot of members on here. It doesn't matter if you're just beginning or have been doing IM for 10 years -
what matters is how much work you put in, and how much you care to help others learn from you.

Doesn't matter if you do data entry, programming, marketing, SEO, affiliate - everything is accepted as long as it's related to IM.

And the best thing is you don't have to do anything differently, just spend 5 minutes summarizing your week + providing a screenshot
and if make up to $600 per month if you win all week's contests.

Do you have any suggestion on how to make it simplified?

For those of you that don't know, Rescue Time is just a background application that logs your activities and saves them.
It then categorizes everything automatically - everything from entertainment, software development, design, learning, shopping etc.

And it's literally 1 click to export the weekly log. Very easy to use! (Tested ~10 alternatives, Rescue Time was the best)

Ah, missed that. I might change it to 3 months or something like that, and increase the post count instead.

Why? The only variables is the amount of work you put in, and that you share your experiences.

Work hard = Get paid. Just like IM and business is, this is just an express method to income for anyone, beginner or not.

That shouldn't be an issue, just need to install RescueTime (or the tool we will be using) on both computers.

This is a great idea. It would actually be insightful to a lot of members to see how they are spending their time (are they just idling doing minimal tasks in front of computer, making a 30 min task take 2 hrs....) or they really pushing it and getting things done efficiently. A lot of this would help people understand maybe why they are / aren't making the numbers.

Well, it's a win-win. If you do your best but won't win - you still worked and put energy onto your projects/business.

Yup, absolutely. Was a real eye-opener for me.

Here's why categorization is crucial (and why Rescue Time is the best option I've found so far).

I know a handful of people who spend 18+ hours per day on their PC, but 40% on gaming, youtube or social media. Obviously, those won't qualify for this challenge.
