Fcking paypal is holding my refund, Anyone know what this message means?

    Fck I'm getting tired of these corrupt asholes


    8 days ago I sent a payment via electronic transfer with my paypal account, The same day the guy refunded me.

    For the past 7 days Since the 7th of october the payment has been held and the money is not in my banking account.


    "Status:placed

    PayPal has placed a temporary hold while we're reviewing it. We'll contact you shortly with further information."


    When I call these asholes they spew irrelevant bs and keep extending the date, first they promised friday, now monday.


    Anyone know what the fck this means?

    Why did the guy refund you the same day? What was the problem? Paypal has to be careful because of money laundering and fraud and hacked accounts etc so that is why they put holds on the accounts to review the transactions.

    like I already mentioned, When I call them they tell me shit that doesn't make sense by the mass.

    well I ordered some items from a guy in china, I didn't trust the guy as I read a few bad reviews. so I opened a receipt dispute.. I guess he felt threatened and automatically refunded me.

    I think they don't want to explain all the shit mostly caz if we would knew how their system works, we could find holes in it, like any other system. Either way, I'd never withdraw something more than $1000 via PP even if I know I am totally legit. You can never know what could happen, and especially if those money are very important for you, a hold on the account for at least 2 weeks can ruin your days badly :) Long live the Wire Transfer xD

    Well that explains pretty much everything you need to know. If there have been a lot of bad reviews, it is possible that the account has many open disputes and therefore paypal needs to investigate them all to see what the hell the account is up to. If they are selling replica merchandise, they may be under investigation for that as well. Paypal may be trying to shut down their ebay account and need proof for that. They may be concerned the account is trying to refund all of the fees out before paypal limits it so they are reviewing EVERY refund.

    There are so many possibilities and none of them make paypal look like the bad guy here.

    Either YOUR account or the chinese guys account have a history of shady transactions unfortunately.

    its not an ebay account, The guys account is in good standing.. He was in business for the past 3 years and I have only read 2 bad reviews directed to him, My account is also reputable.
    I think this is just paypal automated shenanigans.
    Do you think I should wait it out or take action?

    Well if its an ebay account or not, I think paypal doesn't trust that guy. How do you know his account is in good standing? Obviously if YOU didn't feel confident the transaction would go as planned, and there are 2 other bad reviews, that probably means MANY more people have also had problems. Not everyone who has a bad experience writes a bad review. Was the purchase for replica/fake items?

    What action are you planning to take? And yes, I think you should wait it out at least 1 more week.

    My cpa company sent me the payments of Oct 1 and paypal REVERSED my payments back to the company. The company has not received the REVERSED payments till date. I keep mailing and calling Gaypal and they fucking never answer me.

    Paypal uses a customer service call center. They have to answer the phone. Do you mean they don't answer the phone or they don't explain what is going on?

    Most of the time i get connected with Paypal Philippines.
    I ask them straight questions and here is what i get.

    Q> My payments have been reversed. Can you confirm that the reversed payments have been sent back to the company(CPA company).

    Answer comes likes this after some halt.
    Answer>You cannot receive more than $500 per transaction according to RBI(India) governmental norms.

    Temme, was that any answer to my question?

    Why dont u use wire transfer for higher payouts
    money will be in your account in the next business day

    Sounds about right to me. Was the payment over $500? And to answer your question, no the Customer Service agent at Paypal in the Phillipines can not confirm if the reversed payment was received by your CPA Company (which is what you are really asking.) If the payment shows reversed on your side, then it was reversed. But it can take days/weeks for the CPA Company to see it or the Banks involved may have screwed up something.

    I am assuming your CPA Company doesn't use paypal directly to pay their associates and instead uses another form of payment processing.

    Lemme know, coz it will help me talking to them.

    Btw, payments were over $500. But just notice the obvious irrelavant reply she gave me.

    @Kickflip : One more thing. If you say the payments gets reversed to the company at the very same time, but the banks may screw it up and delay it. But at the very same moment of the reversal there must be and email sent to the company informing about the reversal.

    Now the cpa company denies about the any such email received by them from paypal.

    Yes there should be an email sent immediately I believe from PayPal even if they use another form of payment processing to pay you, but maybe it got marked as spam or accidentally deleted. I actually don't know 100% if paypal sends them an email because I have never been in this situation.

    The CPA company most likely is using either a Business credit card or a separate payment processing company which takes the money directly from their Bank Account. Just as I can pay you directly from my Credit Card, the CPA company can do this also.

    Now its easy for the CPA company to resolve this, they simply need to reverse the payment from THEIR side. They made the payment, they need to contact their payment processor and tell them to reverse the original transaction with a dispute.

    They can lie to you and say they didn't get the money, but if they refuse to "void" or "cancel" or "dispute" the original transaction, then they are trying to rip you off or something.

    Thanks for the info.

    I dont want to jump into conclusions as of now. May be they are trying to rip me off. I'll wait for few more days and if i seriously find something fishy, i'll post a thread on bhw describing the situation.
