When you add high-PR links with your main anchor text, what's your favorite way to balance out the anchor text with other links? Profiles? Web 2.0s? Wikis? Something else?

well you asked anchor text and than said wikis, web 2.0's. I could act like I am over at WF and be a total dick and not answer your question but on the assumption that I understand your question I would keep the ratio even still. Remember natural wins out in the long run.

Maybe I didn't phrase the question correctly.
I have a number of high-PR posts that are using my main anchor text.
I want to balance out that anchor text with other variations and generic phrases.
My question is what *types* of bulk links people like to use, to do that.

Take a look at what your competitors are doing, and do the same?
Using Market Samurai will help on this.

You're asking a question which is effectively comparing different metrics...

Your anchor-text profile is seperate from your platform/link-type profile. So you need to use varied anchor-texts on whatever links give you an even profile with the other metrics. If you have a majority of high-PR blog-type links, then you should be looking at diversifying into as many other platforms as possible; so the simple answer - as many as possible.

Obviously, there is a tendancy to use the 'easier-creation' link-types for dilution, as you need the volume. But be really careful about a sudden link-velocity hike, and spamming out a bunch of links which upset the balance of your current profile.

Exactly, and that was one of the reasons for the question - since I don't want to just throw a bunch of crappy links against the wall - I was wondering what people favor as a way to balance out the relatively small number of high PR blog posts and the like.

You shouldn't just allocate high PR links with anchor text, blend in some natural, non anchor text links when building the high PR links. THey still pass value, and help create a natural profile.
