First off, Happy Father's Day! What did you get your Dad for Father's day? If you are a Father, what are you hoping for?
Do you celebrate Father's day? If you do not celebrate Father's day tomorrow, is there any other day of the year in your country just for Fathers?
I went and bought my father his favorite beer plus a matchbox car & sat on the bench next to his grave. Talked it up with him He hates flowers but he used to joke that he wanted match box cars next to his grave so every time a kid would visit the graves of others. They would see his & take a piece of him with them. So every year, I get 5 of them.
I miss him a lot and hope he's honing his skills in golf so he can beat me once when I meet up with him.
I'm just enjoying the time with the family. The funny thing is that I'm actually doing alot of nice things for the family this weekend - made corn dogs this afternoon, will be making cheeseburgers with my new nuwave oven a little later... will be making Belgian waffles tomorrow morning and then either chicken wings or some nice breaded cod tomorrow evening. (My Wife does most of the cooking, but I like using my 'toys' - the Nuwave oven, the corn dog maker, the waffle maker... lol)
Unfortunately, my father and I haven't spoken for 20+ years. He's racist, sexist, an anti-Semite and other than that, just a mean, old man... and unfortunately, I am not kidding at all. When I was growing up, I literally tried to change him - to show him that you judge people 1 person at a time - not by their race, their religion or sex... but then I realized 2 things: 1) It wasn't going to work and 2) It wasn't my job to change him. It was my job to be the best man I could become - and that is who I have tried to be.
So... for the men out there that think like me and try to make this world a better place - Good on ya and Happy Father's Day (tomorrow)...
*Edit* NeedaLead... sorry for your loss. I feel that way about my Mom although she passed when I was a child - over 40 years ago. Just saw her grave again a few months ago... I still talk to her and have always missed her. We always miss the good parents.
My mom died over 25 years ago, my dad died 12 years ago. It's tough but I think the ones who were raised with minimal parenting tend to be the strongest of them all.
I just spent 8 hours at the hospital. They think (not sure) that i have something in my ear which affects my balance and my vision.
Neat huh? Now i'm taking pills so it stops but you're feeling like you had 4 joints, 24 beers and didn't sleep since january1th !
It should take between 7 to 10 days to get the hell out of my head (probably blood accumulation)
Any of you guys ever got this "thing" to stay polite...
Hell i passed everything tests related to heart condition, cancer, blood etc...etc... and everything looks ok
If it's still doing it in 7 days, it's a head scanner that i will need to pass
