    Guys,

I've been looking for this proof for a while and below is the report I ran on the keyword "iphone cases" gets about 12K searches per month, well the first thing I noticed is that the site ranked first is scoring 68 and 80 for mobile and desktop speed, it doesn't have a great domain or page authority and although it has a few more ref domains it shouldn't really be able to push Apple out the way for a brand term, so if you can get your site speed above 70, match the ref domains and social signals then you can even beat Apple for their own product.

Thanks for this - very interesting. I didn't think speed meant that much - recently been in two minds whether to upgrade my sites - I might try it and see.

Yes, speed does indeed matter these days.

    #11 is 94/100 and #5 is 24/100

Can't be that tight of correlation if a 24/100 is middle of page 1.

It's interesting but in this other case IMDB doesn't outrank HBO for GOT even though the site speed is above 70 and the other metrics are better: https://serpinsights.boyddigital.co.uk/index/uk/game-of-thrones

It's not Apple of course. I'm not sure if you're just pointing this out or saying it's a sure thing as far as ranking factors. Not sure what proof you were looking for basically.

What we've been seeing in the reports is that when Ref domains and speed are at the top of the average then ranking shouldn't be an issue, DA and PA don't seem to have much of an impact directly against Referring Domains and Speed.

The third thing that we are seeing as a ranking factor is referrer spam, we've a few test sites that site 11th when the referrer spam isn't blocked and move to about 7th when we add the code to the htaccess file. These test sites have been domain matched with speed, ref doms and social signals.

in some cases its clear to see the impact, on other reports we've found that sites with a mobile speed less than 65 cant get on the homepage regardless of the other signals, Zazzle are just missing the social signals and they'll go on the homepage. Nothing certain in the serps these days but finding any gaps makes life easier. I'll do some direct testing on speed, ie take a slow site sitting on page 2, improve the speed on that page and see what happens.

in your data ctr is probably more reason then speed, also for sure ref domains is why 1 is nbr 1 ( probably ton of pbn links that your soft doesn't see)
