Faking your feed stats

I was wondering if people faked their feed subscribers stats(not for tricking site buyers) but for creating the impression of an already popular blog....
I believe a visitor would be more inclined to be your feed subscriber if he saw 2000 subscribers already there...rather than just 10 or 20.

how does one go about getting it done?

I helped a friend with this a few weeks ago, he was having trouble building the subscriber list on his blog and wanted to make it appear more popular. It was very easy to do. What we did was display the image for one of my my feedburner counts, with his feedburner link.

His subscriber base is ~60 currently (new blog), the one of mine we used is somewhere around the 600 mark. He wanted to use something with 2,000+ subscribers, but that would have seemed a little unrealistic for his site.

So, find a blog that is displaying a feedburner count in the range you want (I prefer 400-600, but you could go higher) that uses a display color scheme you like, and display their image, but replace the link with your feedburner link.

Another option, sorta cheating, is to save/screen cap their count image and display it as a jpg or just create a new one from scratch in Photoshop... it would be a static image, but most people probably wouldn't notice.. using that trick the colors would match your site design, and the count could be whatever number you wanted.

Hope this helps!
