    Hey all

I am personally much more into SEO then YouTube bot views...

I am trying to find out if this is valid. My client told me YouTube called him and warned him to stop putting on a fake views or they will pull the video.

Does that sound legit to you ?

Anyone else heard of this before ?

Sounds strange to me that YOUTUBE would be calling.

Sounds like B.S to me, Youtube is impossible to get contact with in my experience, would be a miracle if they call someone let alone email them with a human response

Google never, ever, ever calls anyone as 98% of their customer service staff is in India.
The handful of times they DO call it's about adwords.

It's a bluff (by your client).

Hope you had your poker face on.

Sounds Legit. I had a phone call yesterday from Google saying that somebody is trying to harm my site by building low quality links to it.

Google will never contact you via phone for anything except maybe AdWords. If you didn't know already, they could care less about you -- they wouldn't waste their time and just "pull" the video; your account would be banned :).

They just ban. I've had videos banned for fake views (Back when it was easier to bot). Why would they waste time calling you over a youtube video? Google bans peoples adsenses for no reason and they'll never call you about that!

Thanks for input. Client claims they are doing heavy work with YouTube on other things and it was a kind warning.

Unless they are an international company or spending mega bucks. ie. 25,000+/mo in YouTube ads I doubt the call is authentic.

Great point, well my clients video that i was doing, is sitting with a company that does much more than 25K/monthly ... i know for a fact without asking the client, since the organization in itself is huge...... this organization actually got the call and the president of the organization called my client..... (i tried to to say this, to keep it more anon, but WTF....) so in such a scenario, you are saying it is likely?

youtube once contacted me via email about a copyright infringement, I was able to show the actor's release paperwork/consent. I won, no call just a email saying dispute has been cancelled. If your client can't come up with a name or number of the person, it's prob bogus.
