Fake Referral Traffic.. How bad is it really?

I have used tools such as hitleap, traffic twister etc to fake traffic to my site in the hopes that google would rank it better.

Is this truely a bad strategy? Or is there really no issues with this sort of abuse..?

Traffic is just a fraction of amount Google consider to rank any site.

Make sure your site content is able to be ranked according to Google guidelines and you have on Site and OFF site seo done too :)

But it is still considered. Which is why I am asking if it could be bad or good in the long run.
 
basically it's useless in simple words consider on Genuine ranking which converts into leads instead of anything else it will go up all things if that goes well :)
 
I'm not sure that Google really cares how much traffic a site is getting in terms of ranking. I don't think throwing blanked referrer traffic is a good investment at all. There are much better things to be using your time and money on for seo. Also, what will Google think when it sees your huge bounce rate? Even if the fake traffic helps at all, it will surely be negated by the fact that users aren't even somewhat interested in the content and don't engage.

This is just my opinion though. I have never seen the point of traffic that doesn't convert.
 
Depends, if you have straight (fake) traffic it'll improve your Alexa Rank - which also improves your Google Rankings somewhat.

I can say that 'search traffic' from bots works like a charm if you do it right.

Care to elaborate slightly? I am using pure fake traffic but i'm not sure what you mean.
 
I doubt bot traffic will harm your PR. However, Google throttles traffic
to your site based on it's searches. So if the bots are coming via Google searches,
then the amount of real people coming to your site via Google search will decrease.
 
Why not? This fake traffic is not good.Try natural traffic using social media

Hey bro are you sure about this? This one's new to me. In what way would getting traffic through SERPs lead to less traffic through SERPs? Maybe I'm missing something or just really tired, but I don't get what you mean by this...?
 
Fake traffic does not help you at all with SERP or if it does it about 0.1%
