I've been thinking about putting fake handbags on ebay, are people still doing this?

I found some sites that has some nice knockoffs, and i was thinking about putting a few up on auction to see how it does....but not passing them off as legit. For example for a louis vuitton bag i'd put in the title something like "Brand new designer handbag" or actually mispell the designer's name 'Brand new "Lois Vuiton" bag' something like that....

I have a couple of questions.

First, is it illegal to sell knock offs if you don't claim that they're the real thing?
Second, is there a possibility that the item will be confiscated by customs?

Thank you

I have a friend that sells fake Naruto and Hello Kitty stuff on eBay and no one has said anything to them in the last year. She has not marked any of it as replica items. Not sure about hand bags. I think eBay is a little more cautious about clothing type goods.

She's chinese so they order directly from China. Getting checked by customs for her is random. Some shipments go right through and some get held up and get torn apart by customs and can sit on the dock for weeks. She tells me that now she has stuff shipped in smaller quantities via EMS and that has drastically cut down on customs problems. Hope that helps.

well from my personal experience, knock off are not such a good idea. you will probably see a lot of bags and most of them are fake, but they have established identity as real hand bag sellers, so people trust them. I tried to sell some of them, I bought 3 from china, I sold one no problem. so i thought it is great deal. tried to sell the second one and ended up having my screen name through many forums told that i was selling fakes. You still can find those post.hehe! and if ebay notices that you are selling fakes, they will cancel all attempts of listing those items. Only way I think is taking pictures of actual bag with all dustbags, keys if any, and licenses. well good luck! to sell sh*t on ebay it is getting harder and harder. I think we are doing public service to these companies because thats how their name keeps being advertised. ok we dont make profit but they still do in long run. Maybe they should lower their prices so we would not have to buy fakes than we would sell the real deal. They should start something like affiliate links, we get % of sale of bag, but that will never happen, they all are greedy for money and they only look out for them selves. Well once again good luck

my point is to sell them and not to say they are legit.... i don't want to pass these off as the real thing

here's my point, there are some people that will buy fake fur for one reason or another....they can't afford the real thing, or they are against wearing dead animals on their shoulders.....but they like the feel of fir, so thy buy fake fur

i think there are teen girls out there that wouldn't mind buying fake LV's or Coaches especially nice looking knock offs.

so, i don't want to say that these are fakes in my auctions...but i don't want to say they are the real thing or try to pass these off as the real things.

It reminds me of the fake fragrances that they sell...you know the 'Smells just like Chanel" brands....

But the thing is the customs that gets me...

Seeing that Ebay was recently ordered to pay $63 million for allowing users to sell replica Louis Vuitton bags and other items I wouldn't think it would be a good idea.

To be honest, from a hustlers stand point...they sell..all knock offs sell...it is what it is, I mean knock offs are ebay's bread a butter. Now the thing is this, how good is the quality of the items your selling, How will u stay low key from Vero so you dont keep getting booted, and most importantly..how will u take payment surely not paypal and dealing with your competition. It can work I kow that for fact, but is it worth your time if u can figure out how u will by pass those issues I smell alot of $$$$$

THis is the NEW WORLD ORDER my friend.

Say no to the rsi chi[p in your body. They can control you with this they can stop you buying food as you will use this for that they can make you ILL they can track you every second of the day.

Yes the super wealthy control this planet probably most of them are the reptilian aliens.

Getting back to the subject I would not try to sell also I see not many people bidding on expensive bags

I kind of depends on how you approach it. Would/might a buyer think that they are legitimate? Could the brand name company make a case that you are deliberately trying to confuse the buyer to thinking that they are legitimate? Misspelling the name would be a clear attempt at confusion.
