What do you think about that?
just reminds me of that South Park episode for Douche of the Universe
He is worth it. Running a company worth more than ebay, starbucks, adobe, dell and yahoo at the age of 26 isn't a joke. All who say that zuck is a loser etc can say it - but all who say that are fucking rats (that's softly said) compared to zuck
Speaking of rats, Zuckerberg doublecrossed a lot of people to get to where he is. And that's softly said, too.
I think BHW can be very happy about this. We know where da money is
He may be Time's Person of the Year but his GF is fugly.
They are all do this! How do you think Big Bill got where he is!
hmm interesting I just checked alexa.. facebook would be number 1 if it was't the fact that google has gmail. Now with facebook starting it's own internal email. I think the number 1 spot is not far away. My prediction the average users will leave gmail in droves and use facebook as a 1 stop shop for all their social needs! Gmail will become the domain of Blackhatters
Lol. People aren't going to leave Gmail. Facebook mail is not a direct competitor instead its kinda a tiny thing, I think. Also, social networking has a traditionally unloyal fan base (Myspace). Also there is substantial difference between Facebook and Google. Facebook is premier, I think, for the self-advertiser. Google is still premier for locating information.
Although Facebook is huge and a big deal, its way way overhyped for something intended to rate girls, connect colleges, and to cyber stalk people. When the next best thing comes along, Facebook's "loyal" users will probably flock to it.
Who did Bill Gates fuck over? From what we all know, Zuckerbergs "fuckery" was far more open, screwing both the people whom the idea originated from as well as his best friend.
Who did Bill Gates fuck over? hmmmm let me see..
He stole the code for DOS from digital. (by the way that was his first big application)
He stole the idea for windows from Apple although Apple stole it from xerox.
He killed off netscape (the first browser)
He killed off wordperfect (the first big wordprocessor)
He killed off ICQ
The list is actually endless. I got those from a small search.
Bill gates and micro soft have put thousands of companies out of business. Not by accident but on purpose.
It's funny how the young focus on the here and now
Just curious, what operating system do you use?
but all my servers run freebsd!
What are you getting at?
Julian Assange should have gotten it
Zuckerberg doesn't deserve to be TIME Person of The Year. It should have gone to Julian Assange. Wikileaks is bigger news than Facebook.
I think Facebook has been in the news, as of late, much more than Wikileaks. Don't get me wrong, I think the Wikileaks news/information is much more than "Check out this Facebook update" but nonetheless, I think the fiasco came a bit late.
I am sure when they thought about this in October, they probably decided upon it before the Wikileaks thing came out. Although, I think, if the fiasco came out earlier, like in October or September, I think it would definately be considered.
Since its the later part of the year and already people are thinking in terms of next year, or if anything does happen, pertinent until next year.
Just on a side note, I don't think killing off can count as unfair play. Expansion happens aggressively in most cases such is the nature of business. Countless times I here stories about small towns where a Walmart comes in, and I think, why the fuck are all you people moaning for?
Assuming Walmart aren't stupid, if you don't like it, boycott it and they should shift. I hear a lot about hungry multi-nationals swooping up the place, and actually don't really hear about the results other then the locals moaning, but basic economics will tell you that no customers - cost of premises + cost of staff + cost of products = negative.
On the other hand, if you want to compete, you need to realize that with modern day globalized business, you can't just have your little grocery store providing for your family anymore.
No offence meant at all to lifestyle business owners, but I honestly think that some small business owners hold back far too much, and act almost as though they didn't expect this kind of shit to happen in the modern world. The world changes, adapt to it.
I guess it comes down to personal values. Would I feel right about expanding my business into other peoples territories? Yes. Would I feel right about it if I knew that the locals were against it and that a lot of people would be out of a job (even though it could be argued that local jobs would be created to balance the effect out)? No, of course not.
A little bit more on topic - "It's funny how the young focus on the here and now" - Can hardly expect me to focus on events nearly a decade before I was born ?
Even more on topic...
Even though he seems like a prick for fucking over his best friend, I still got to rate him for what he's achieved currently. However, to pretend there wasn't an element of luck involved in this, considering he didn't even have a business model and just had a little idea which was already in existence, however not in exactly the same way, plus he got $500k from VC's, a $240 million injection from Microsoft (in return for a sum that valued his company which was apparently doing negative runs at the time at $15 billion), that would be stupid.
What Zuck did is what I read here, all of the time. Take others methods and put a spin on it. He did just that and it worked so he gets my vote.
Steve Jobs from Apple deserved it.
