Hi guys!
I'm a manager of several facebook pages. I just got a notification that Facebook asks me to take ownership of my page, and this appears in the admins tab now. Has anyone ever had this before?

I never had this before. I see this 1st time. I dont know why. Can any one explain why is this for ?

If Facebook wanted your page they wouldn't need to ask your permission.
Agreed, but why and how it appeared as a notification, and the message I posted is shown in the Page Roles tab. It's really weird. I'm thinking this is something new. Here's what it fully looks like, not an ordinary scam.

How much likes does it have?

Close to 160k.

I don't know how this works but I think it is someone who is naming their self as facebook. Because really does facebook ask if they wanted to do this. Do they think you are stupid to accept or what

Never witnessed that. Why would facebook "request" user for the ownership. They can remove you anytime they like. Something is fishy..

say goodbye to your page. i had the same issue and now my page is managed by Mark's guys (i did not accept anything)

Deny the request, and then make sure you aren't doing anything sketchy on the page in the meantime or they'll confiscate it.

Its Some Kind Of Mistake I Think ;)
If they wanted your page then they would never have to ask you dude because page is of facebook :) you are only an admin and creator of it ;)
thats what social media is doing now-a-days !

If you click 'deny' you might still lose the page if it is a trick, so just ignore it.

Haha, funny though, someone must have created a fake profile!

Its like Facebook is asking to request its own stuff?

Facebook wont request what's theirs they would just take it!

very interested , what goes further with this!

nice scam!

You guys never looked at the pictures. It's not a fake profile, it has nothing to do with a profile. That message appears on the Page's Setting, right under the list of admins on Page Roles. It wasn't a simple message, it came as a notification, clicking on it takes me to the page's Manage Admins tab. It doesn't look like a scam, but it doesn't feel right coming from facebook either. The strange thing is that this is something new, I wasn't able to find similar situations to my case.

Open the Page with another browser or from another PC and see if you have this message! Or open the page from the Facebook app. Did you try with different page admin?

Yes, every admin received the same message.

I set up a page once about a movie. it got very popular very fast. I got contacted by "Facebook" telling me to cease and desist under copyright laws. Turned out it was another user with a similar page, so be careful.

My advice is to contact Facebook support and ask for help regarding this notification, also express your option CLEARLY that you do not want to give away the ownership of that page and if that page is fraudulently taken away by the Facebook staff you will be seeking legal council. Also state that you didn't click the decline button because you feared it was a possible scam (the absence of an answer is an answer legally speaking).

Send them this message fast, you don't know how long it will take them to take the absence of an answer as an approval.

If they take the page away from you and they continue to manage it then you will be rich :) Reason: if the page is live but not in your control, they can't play the TOS card. If the page is live then it didn't infringe any copyrights or any TOS rules. A Facebook page is an asset, if they fraudulently take an asset away from you then the justice system will do it's job.
