I am thinking of setting up a page for my bot website on Facebook but I want to keep the bot making completely separate from my personal page for various reasons.

If I create a page (and remember I am a FB numpty!) will people on my friends list be able to see it from my profile?

Is there anything on a fan / business page that will tie it to my profile?

Sorry for the stupid questions :)

no. you have to make sure your signed into the page as the fan page name, (option is give when you set it up) if you want to post.

But there is nothing that shows up in your feed to say, "fatboy created this page," or "fatboy is now admin of this page"

No there is nothing that will tie it to your profile, but if you make any small mistake maybe you can share the status on your profile instead on your fan page, like this your friends will now it...
Anyway if this is a real concern for you, why don't you create another fb account just for this purpose???
    Cheers

Just don't share the status update from the page on your profile.
Facebook do keep secrets here too..

Create another facebook account. There have been times when I wanted to deactivate my personal facebook profile just for a break. But when you deactivate your personal profile, your pages get deactivated too.
