I started creating a group a few days ago with the hopes to monetize it, but while doing my research everyone seems to monetize pages. I planned to use this group to drive traffic to my website ( Related to the group ) and make use of pinned post(s). What are the benefits to creating a page instead of a group? Should I create a page for my website instead and link to it in all of my videos? My videos are educational and I'm using YouTube right now to build my Facebook community. After my website is done being set up I plan on using Facebook and YouTube to drive traffic directly to my website; Then have my Facebook community linked on my website as-well.

The reasons I chose to go with a group is because it allows more people to communicate, and share their knowledge. Considering in my niche the discussion topics are endless, there's always something to talk about. I feel like a page is a little dull, because you just Like it and forget about it, but a group keeps you constantly engaged.

    What do you guys think?

You can create a group, have people do discussion there. Then promote your page.

There are not many legit ways to promote group. So, you can divert traffic to groups. And later to promote your page use facebook Advertising.

The best strategy is to have both a page and a group. You could gain fans for your page quickly, but the organic reach will be lower and lower as more Facebook users like more pages. Growing a group takes time, but it won't have the issue of reaches.

The best way is to have both Page and Group.
The most active, interested and loyal users will mostly use Group foу communication with you and other users.
The most of the users will prefer inly to read and like posts.

What is your niche? I think creating a group is more effective than a page. But you need to post something interesting and attractive on regular basis to keep your members busy on the group.
