Facebook mobile app installs ads

Anyone that has managed to get some good ROI on facebook mobile app advertising? What are the best option to choose when doing mobile app installs, is it bid for clicks or bid for installs that are the most effective thing to go with? and if choose bid for installs would you go with the automatic bidding strategy fb offers of the manual?

I tried that and that was waaay to expensive, it cost me 4usd per download i am now bidding per click and manually setting the price per click to 0.30 and it now costs me 1usd per install. You have any idea on how i can get the installs more cheaper? its a high competitive niche, it's a slots app...
