    Hi!
I'm very new to Facebook marketing and I need a little help.
I'm running a blog about cats and already got a fanpage with 2250 fans.
In order to boost the fanpage, I want to make a little lottery.

People must like my fanpage in order to participate and I will randomly chose 2-3 of them to recieve a stuffed cat or something like that.

What plugins do I need for that and does facebook allow this kind of actions?
    Thanks in advance :)

Uh... people do this all the time with their facebook pages. Even huge companies such a Pizza Hut and Wendys. My brother also does this on a site he has. I would be very surprised if you got into any trouble... but I don't use facebook so what the hell do I know?

Well firstly I guess you want to lock the content of your facebook page, for that you should use fbml app , more info is everywhere on the internet, simply look for "hide content on facebook fan page" and you will be ok with results.

Then you simply choose the winner, I doubt that you could get in some problems as almost every big company is doing the same promotion: "like us and get orgasm for free".

Doing a lottery isn't against facebooks TOS per-say. But you do have to be careful with how you word your promotion. You can get into a heep of trouble for simply just saying the wrong thing. Also make sure that you deliver the prize on time.

    Somethings to keep in mind:
    Prizes cannot be cash.
There cannot be a fee to enter or any special requirements besides just entering the contest.
Forcing a user to like your page in order to enter the contest is against facebooks TOS.
(The work around is to just make it easy for the to like it. Adding a like button to the contest strategically placed.)

Other than that have fun with your promotion! :) Facebook is good for doing as such.
Also you should check out lujure. They have an app for facebook contests. You just have to customize it.
    -Cheers

If you need any further help feel free to PM me. :)

No you will get banned (if they catch you)
The way it works is to run a competition you must use an app, the most popular being wildfireapp. They charge $25 up front and then $2.99 a day. This allows you to run the competition, but you still can't have it that 'you must like us to enter the competition'. The only way to put this in place is through the more expensive options (about $5k) where the fangate is set up (meeting Facebook guidelines) so that they have to like the page to see the competition details.

BUT - If you have a small page and you are willing to take a risk, then yes go for it. For a big company this could be suicide, but for a blog this could actually be a worthwhile risk when considering the potential followers.
