I call BS on this. I think they are just getting better at deleting fake accounts. I know because I sell Facebook followers and the low quality ones disappear very quickly these day.

you think that many fake accounts is affecting all this lol......I have heard people complaining about facebook for years now....social media may be around forever but not a single site will ever claim to be "the social media" always new sites coming around....just a matter of time.

They are basing the numbers off of the amount of users, so yes I think deletion of millions of fake accounts would affect the number of users.

The real question is how many of their real accounts are dead. Among my friends only about 30%-40% keep using Facebook. The rest forgot it ever existed already. Some switched to twitter, some left the social networks for good.

I find Facebook is for more older people who want to catch up with old school or work friends from the past.

Facebook shouldn't be worried about the number of users falling but rather activity falling. More and more of my FB friends are becoming more inactive. Makes FB less of a distraction from IM for me :)

I hear LinkedIn in ripe for the marketer right now. I may start looking into offering some services for it.
