    Hey there,

I have a few accounts at 4-5k friends and would like to bulk message them a link.
I did a test run before, but I went too far (~2k with just ~15s delay) and had to ID verify my account.

What delay would you consider safe? Are 60 seconds enough or should I go even higher?

For the Content of the message, is it recommended to spin the text and vary the link?

    e.g.:
    Hello, please check this: www.twitter.com/me
    Hi, click here: https://twitter.com/me
Hey there this is dope: http://www.twitter.com/me

    ^Does this make a difference?

    Hoping for some useful answers!

The link itself is incredibly important. FB have done many updates to their crawler and advanced it a lot. I had a few ways to get past it, but they were all eventually patched (usually within weeks).

Group size is important too... And obviously certain words are flagged (for the message itself). It's hard to give you a precise answer, because it obviously depends on what you are sending. But as a rule of thumb, the lower the group size and send rate the better and a whitelisted destination URL with no flagged words in the message itself.

It just comes down to testing yourself and finding that sweet spot

Yes I was talking about PMs. You think FB doesn't crawl the links you send in PMs?

Ah you were talking about Messaging Groups?
I actually intended to send private Messages, not group messages.

Do you think these URLs look different to Facebook?

And what delay between messages would you try?

I was talking about messaging in general. You can send a private message to 1 person, or you can start a group conversation and send to 40 people, but it's exactly the same thing in terms of what flags and what doesn't with clickable links. FB is still going to crawl that link you post, whether you send it to 1 person or 40.

If you're sending them to Twitter you will have a lot more slack, as it's an established authority domain that's whitelisted on their system. But if you spam the same link too much of course it will still get blocked.

http or https I doubt it makes much difference, but common sense states https is better. It will be the /me part that will get flagged.

So my advice is keep your messages as simple as possible. Avoid words that flag in their system. If you are linking to Twitter, then link directly and make as many Twitter accounts as possible (the more the better). As for delay, in all my testing it was other factors that had way more impact, so that's not really an issue. If you're not too bothered about time, then leave 30-60 seconds (random amounts) between each PM... Obviously the longer you wait the better, there's really no perfect answer to this.

Truth is, it's a lot more complex than you think. I did FB for years and still didn't understand everything. It's a bit like asking "what variables do Google look at for ranking a site?". Nobody but Google knows that. People can speculate and understand certain aspects, but you really just have to test and find out for yourself

I'm going to send YouTube links which should be a whitelisted Domain. I will keep the message short anyway as it will convert better.
