Hi, I hope you're well.

I have a custom audience for video views (people who have watched at least 3 seconds of my video).

My question is: Can you add new videos into this custom audience automatically? Or does always have to be a manual process?

Thanks, Ravi.

It's a manual task which makes sense because you probably don't want all the audiences together from every video.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. If you have the resource, why not? Especially when you're only doing a video a week or so. It's not about the time taken, it's about forgetting to do it...

I was talking more about the quality of the audience. Usually, you have different types of videos you are posting, some for pure entertainment and some product/offer related. In that case, you probably show different ads to different people because mixing them all together usually doesn't make sense and results in a waste of money :)

This is a very good point. In terms of our retargeting, it's very simple, it's just to come and have a free trial. It's not like pay £10000 for our product, where I guess this makes more sense. I believe most people, at some point in their life anyway, could benefit from a gym membership. So in this sense, I'm happy with retargeting everyone.

If you don't agree, I'd love to hear your thoughts and learn more :)

It all depends on the Facebook page and offer you have. If you are having a niche-specific page, where you share niche related content then yes, targeting everyone with an offer makes sense + you can build a nice Lookalike audience based on those that engaged with your posts/ads/page, etc.

On the other note, people that watched 50% of the video of a product/offer are probably worth way more than an audience that you collected which watched 50% of the video of people that do silly things in the gym (pure entertainment). In this case, the first audience need less education and can be retargeted with more direct offer/selling, while the second audience usually need more education, and will perform better if you do a 2-step retargeting, where you show them the product video first -> by watching this video they enter the second audience and are ready for direct selling. This usually results in less money wasted in the long term and improves your LAA.

I hope this makes sense on what I'm trying to explain :)

You have to add new videos manually. However, if the videos get fresh views, the audience is updated automatically
