Yes I have experience.
It is totally OK to use Facebook ads for an adsense site. It's just a myth that adsense will ban you if you use FB ads.
But, I wouldn't recommend FB ads, because, first of all, the organic reach of FB pages are extremely low.
Second, the ctr of FB driven traffic is a bit low (very low), compared to organic reach. So, most likely (almost certainly) you can't get the money back which you spent on FB ads. In my experience, only 1$, maybe less, returned back for 5$ ad.
Some numbers: I got 14K+ likes through FB ads, to achieve this number, I spent almost 3000$ (approx. 0.21$ for 1 like). Now, when I post a content, it reaches 1000 to 5000 people, on average 2000 people. I get 20 to 100 shares, and 40 to 200+ likes. But only 20 to 100 people click on the link and access my site. Only 2% of them click on ads. I post 2 contents every day. So, if it's a good day, I get only 4-5 clicks for 14K+ likes.
And believe me, compared to other pages, my organic reach is really good (almost half of the page likes if it's a good day).
