Facebook ads are a complete joke

FB ads feel bad because they really are tough now. If the product and ad don’t grab people fast, Facebook just spends your money and moves on.

5 months in and I'm down 3 grand. Every guru on YouTube makes this look so easy but it's complete garbage.

My ROAS is trash. Started with 0.8, now sitting at maybe 1.2 on good days. Facebook keeps showing my phone accessories to random old people instead of college kids. Their targeting algorithm is broken or something.

Hired some guy from Upwork for $500. He did worse than me. These "experts" are just as clueless.

Been using AdsGo for campaigns, Canva for creatives, Hotjar to see what people do on my site. Still bleeding money. Meanwhile everyone else is posting screenshots of 5x ROAS like it's nothing.

Thinking about just going back to organic content instead.

share your creatives and also share your funnelling technique. are you retargeting or showing it to cold audience?

It's not the fault of paid advertising itself. The key lies in the quality coming from your ads, including the mindset, strategy, and content quality of the person running those ads.
Understanding Facebook's algorithm deeply, fine-tuning it based on the current situation, and constantly upgrading your own knowledge are crucial.
We all agree that paid advertising is no longer as powerfully effective as it used to be. However, what sets great advertising experts apart is their ability to learn and adapt to the current state of each platform. They know how to make paid ads still profitable for them.

Personally, I find that paid advertising is no longer a magic bullet, especially for low-profit products. Organic content combined with user-generated content is often more effective for phone accessories these days. Sometimes, pausing advertising and focusing on rebuilding demand is a smarter option.

Sometimes it looks like Facebook ad is f#cked up.

I understand how frustrating that can be — I went through something similar when I launched my first independent site. If competitors are seeing results, it usually means the platform itself is working, and there’s room to improve the campaign setup or strategy.
When things feel unclear, working with an experienced ads manager or consultant can be very helpful. Learning from someone with hands-on experience is often one of the fastest ways to improve your skills and avoid common mistakes.

Just because you can't do it doesn't mean others can't. People are still making millions of dollars a day, and do you think they're making a profit?

From my experience, paid ads aren’t a guaranteed solution anymore, especially for products with thin margins. For items like phone accessories, organic content and user-generated content often deliver better results right now. In some cases, temporarily reducing ad spend and focusing on rebuilding interest and engagement can be a more effective strategy.

I think the problem is not with Facebook, nor with those who work there, but rather with the product you are selling. Facebook is just a tool; if things are bad there, it doesn't mean that everything will be fine with Google Ads, for example.
