i ran an ad campaign the post got 600 likes and over 100 comments with people tagging their friends

the thing being advertised only got 13 sales.. why is this..

if every person who liked the post bought the item... man.. why like if your not even going to buy?

Its because Facebook has the like option?

You got a 2% conversion rate. Try tweaking your landing page and run a campaign with CPM and see which one converts better.

Is this your first time buying traffic on any self serve platform?

Just because you buy targeted traffic doesn't mean you'll have a high conversion rate.

You have sales. What you need to do next is optimize your campaign so you can increase your CVR.

E.G. Since most sales come from 35-40 year old men, I would make a separate campaign for this and run an ad.

I think my item is geared towards the younger crowd, specifically those who like working out

that was just an example of how I would optimize a campaign if I knew a certain demographic was converting more than others.

So you are running 'Teespring' type campaigns. And as per what you wrote in OP, you are new at this.

A simple example to why 600 likes didn't convert to 600 sales is because people like things which they find interesting on FB, and it doesn't always mean they will buy the item.

Same way as low income person likes iPhone but he doesn't buy it since he can't afford it.

Put simple, you need to optimize your FB campaigns, there have already been plenty of threads with full info on how to do this. So better hit the search button.
