Is this the recession? So far 26 bucks this month. What's up with that? I used to make 200+/month.
No kidding... My sales are down over half this month
And I have ramped up my marketing efforts over the last 6 months and still searches are down - traffic is down but SERP'S are up??? The economy needs a fix real fast!
your own store or affiliate? ...and have you tried with ebooks too?
I wonder how fellow BHW are rating with CPA networks, EPN, and other stuff. I guess we just have to step up the effort and activities to fight recession.
Yeah this economy sucks ass. Find other ways to make money. Help people with the shitty economy!
Just affiliate and cs (learned from DIM)
Ebooks? I'm trying now on my own...I think it's easier.
It's good (and bad) to hear it's not just me... Sometimes you are so close to the work that you start thinking you are doing something wrong and why something used to work for years came to a screeching halt!
It's weird because you do all this research and work, and see it pay off in the search engines but yet traffic is way down compared to a year ago when my sites could not even be found in the major search engines.
Just shows that people don't have the extra cash so why bother searching for stuff online that they can't afford...
We just have to keep at it, it will get better and we'll all be on top
So true. I just bought another "toy" here. I'm hoping to up the ante and cover my loses. I'm glad we can all share our experience and support each other.
I get mostly only books too but someone bought dildo once and few cameras lol
Couple of days ago I earned total of $16+ until someone bought an expensive barbecue set with all the trimmings. Got my earnings to $20+, but still so unusual for the low earnings since we're only less than 9 days to the end of the month.
well if people are having money troubles. why not sell them a "prevent money troubles" ebook or something like that. work at home products and google biz kits are converting very well right now.
ya, it's true - people are holding onto their money just that much longer before making purchases - and for most people buying online is mainly for non-essential items, so they make purchase less online.
That being said, i second the whole idea that you could sell them on money making ideas
But once you're at the top of the serps, when the economy turns around, you'll make it all back and then some - because a lot of people + businesses are spending less in their online marketing efforts (more room for us).....
Personally, I feel that it is right time to build up our assets or skills when the economy is bad, so when the turn comes, we are riding at the front.
tell me about it.. i finally got to page 1... but im not getting any sales.
the recession sucks
Bad economy or not I've still made loads with amazon. If you sell books, just list more books, no extra cost. I've also dropped shipped from other book companies before, lets say you see a book @ borders for sale online with ship for 10 sell on amazon for 15. Go into dvds and cds too, people say it's over done...people say everything is over done...you don't have to have the lowest price either...I've made tons of sales off the 3rd page.
Sales? What does that word mean?
Other than the e-Whoring guys, who's actually making any money? Page one on G00gle, decent sites, supposedly decent keywords - zero conversions. WTF??
I've been selling an ebook on starting a business that's recession proof. (It actually IS because I do the business on the side.) Sales have been steady for me.
summertime also usually puts a big dink in sales. I've noticed stuff on ebay also seems to be selling for a lot lower than it used to. sux.
Another thing, last month I had lot of Kindle books sales and we won't get commission for any of those sales. All affiliates should stop promoting kindle.
I sold just two high priced electronic items this month. With my review site on page one of SERPS I should have got more sales if economy is not so bad. I just wish my site stay there when the economy revives.
I have noticed a rise in at home entertainment stuff, guess people are trying to save money and not take so many trips. Also try selling into the holidays two months early and spam the holiday keywords heavily. It does not matter if the page gets deindexed after the holiday so why not just go for it?
"this fathers day get your dad the best fathers day tie ever. Funny fathers day ties he will never forget. Does your dad need a new funny fathers day tie, why not have fun with it and add a little humor to your fathers day gift? "
4th of July is coming up, maybe sell beach towels, outdoor party supplies, portable pools, yard ornaments, party tarps, beer coolers, and and anything with a flag on it. I sold a ton of stuff 1 week before fathers day because I started blogging about fathers day gifts right after mothers day. As a result, I had one of my biggest selling months. After 4th of July comes back to school, there is always something people have to buy. Get your seasonal stuff indexed before the stores put it out and people will come online to compare prices once they begin seeing it around town.
