With all new rules, such as only 1 link allowed in the ressource box, only 3 words for the anchor text. they seem to be loosing thier appeal. Also, I think they are also no follow, not sure.

Is anyone thinking of an alternative?

EZA is still the best choice if you want to have a good chance that your article will be ranked highly in Google.

What? Only one nofollow link per article?

    Where are you reading this?

Yes, they've made changes. I used to get 2 resource box links for a 300 word article. I did this many times. Then all of a sudden my articles were rejected for excessive anchor text length, was 5 words, now 3. Also, my 300 word articles are only allowed 1 link. they will probabley give you the 2 links for longer articles. Both items are a change from the past. Also, note the terms are not specifically called out for both items. Try it and see.

    This cannot be true!

    Guys,

Where did you get this info? Can I have a look at it?

But yes, using NoDoFollow firefox plugin, I just realized too that links in the resource box on all articles at Efuck**zine has become nofollow...

    *Sigh*

We do not allow articles which have strategic keyword anchor text links in the body to your domain that do not add informational value to the article. Any use of anchored text links to websites that you own should add value to the article topic rather than stand out as an obvious abuse of anchored text link. The goal with this policy is to be a good net citizen by only allowing articles that add value with the anchored text links rather than for pure SEO reasons. Please limit your anchor text link length to 3 words in an article that is less than 400 words and 5 words in anchor text if your article is more than 400 words.
Note: Common words are excluded from this word count. Those include: to, is, in, on, it, and, at, by, a, an, for, of

We would like to help you get this article approved but there is an issue which needs to be resolved first.

Your resource box is longer than we recommend. Please keep the size of your resource box so that it's no larger than 15% of your total article size and resubmit it for Editorial Review.

I don't care what EZA does, if you write 50 articles and they are of decent quality...people will click through to your site. As for the BL value...a link is a link. I agree that High PR ******** links are valuable...but there are plenty of other linking methods that are better then EZA...they are tightening their belts because of suck-ass spammy articles that have little reader value (I've published a few of my own). So, they went NoFollow to discourage this type of content.

I read on someone's blog that Ezine Articles intends to take this process even further by deleting thousands of "thin" articles. If I run across the post I will drop the link here.

I think they are trying to stay in Google's good graces by "cleaning house". Squidoo is a recent example of a company bowing down to Google, and now with the recent FTC crap there is a good chance that we are just seeing the first wave of big websites lining up to comply with the borg (aka Google, FTC, etc.) Things could get ugly.

I agree with some of the previous posters. I have had no problem with posting 2 links in my resource box. Mya rticles are in general 3-400 words.

IMHO, EZA is just making sure that spammy articles won't get free juices from them henceforth. On the other hand, the good writers will still get those decent older rules to play with, at least 'til they bring everyone under one umbrella whenever they want to. EZA is rightly taking the complete control in their hands now, that's all guys! :)

If EZA have humans to review articles before they publish them, why can't those reviewers also decide on whether a link will be follow or no follow instead of a blanket ban on everyone?

Links in Ezine are still do follow and they still allow 2 links in the resource box.
