I would advise you to use free means of driving traffic to your website as I do. Though PPC is great but sometimes it proves to be a great pain in the ass. Use video marketing, blogging, free classified ads, article marketing and watch the conversions yourself.

I've never used adbrite but the Google Content Network and some other networks like AdBrite for banner advertising. The thing is as following:
In my opinion you do NEVER get very targeted users from websites (networks) compared to search engines. On the search engines people are searching for your product (or at least your keyword ;) ) - on websites they are probably just surfing around. It's great if you got a good CTR with your AdBrite ads but you have to convince these surfers, that maybe have clicked just for fun on your ads, that they need to buy your product...

So check your landing page. Do get a high conversion rate with search engine traffic? If this is true then you must optimize your traffic source. I.e. test different websites, bid prices,...

I had an adbrite account and set up a ringtone campaign, forgot about it(because they were giving me 0 clicks) and then was surprised 5 months later when I was charged like $2k for a shit load of clicks. Check the CPA network and I had one(just one) $13 conversion. It sucked. A lot. I have never done anything PPC related again. tru story...(this happened like 6-7 months ago) Anyway, idk about your situation, but I can tell you extremlly shitty conversion rates are possible.

Yeah there is so much much clickfraud and crap traffic from adbrite it barely converts on anything besides placed cookies or traffic boosting for me. Sorry to hear about that mate.

now with media traffic, do you hhave good success with this? is it worth putting money into for a general interest product like weight loss or something like that? any ideas you have or how you use this traffic and what you're promoting using this traffic (clickbank, cpa's ?)

Well, with media traffic it's a bit like the media buys on a CPV basis on AdBrite -> you'll have to invest money, test things, burn money, test other things and burn even more money ....

To me it seems a bit easier to get a positive ROI from AdWare/PPV than to get into the content networks (AdBrite, Google Content Network,...) and doing regular media buys.
You don't have as much parameters in media traffic and could get your results even without burning so much money.
