The minimum bid is the least amount you can bid on a keyword. If you stick with the minimum bid then it is unlikely you will win and have your ad displayed.
To have your ad displayed you need to have a higher bid than your competitors and better relevancy/quality score.

Lol at the title, this is not a parenting forum, if you want people to explain you things like you are 5, then ask your parents for help - maybe they can search Google better than you do! Seriously, your question can be answered with a simple google search and reading the official Adwords guides.

Anyway @3jambes I don't see how it's possible to explain it more simply than what it's already is, a bidding system. Why do you want to bid more than the minimum? To have more chance to win and have your ad displayed, that's it.
