Paying for 10 years will not magically rank you, however the amount of years registered of a domain does have a small ranking factor.

Since Google is a domain registry operator (https://domains.google) they have access to domains information, so domain renew date could be a positive metric in their huge algorithm.

there is no sense of registering domain for 10 years unless u hv strong plan. Better save that money and use it to buy some good links to overcome that small or no ranking factor.

IF you put on content, then yes, that will be a ranking factor. If you just register a domain without actually building the site up, then that won't help you at all. It's the age of the content that matters. Meaning, how long has it been in index. Not the length of registration.

some say it helps some say it doesn't matter, to stay on the safe side i always buy my domain for 2 years, on the other hand buying the domain for 10 years isn't gonna rank you alone.

I shot myself in the foot once, bought 10 years reg and then got the domain banned and there it is, a dead horse registered for 6 more years staring at me.
