Most of the great expired domains i find have an archive of chinese websites like this http://i.imgur.com/NjleQjK.png. Most people recommend avoiding this domains because of obvious spam but did anyone tried registering this type of domains, what's the problem with them, they don't get indexed or what?

I bought 2 very great and valuable domains with good pr and age. You may avoid chines but instead of it you can find very nice and valuable domains. You just need to search on it. I found those domains which was absolutely needed for me.

Well you've nailed the reason they're frowned upon : Chinese spam is massive. Basically I take lists of Chinese IP's from public sourced and block everything on my route tables.... That's how bad it is.

So if you're lucky to find a domain name where the Chinese content wasn't complete spam, you may get lucky. But odds are it's gonna be a waste of time.

For the record, it is Japanese, not Chinese. Japanese spam can be even more hardcore, I usually stay away from both.

I have. I was very selective and got a domain over five years old with minimal links to it what so ever. It was a steal. You just need due diligence.

Most people will not pick the 'most clean' domain and pick one with good metrics. I picked a domain which had a few links from English sites, insane age, one owner, never dropped. It was cheap too. The site only had a couple hundred links. They ran it as white hat as humanly possible.

I would suggest if you are looking at non - English domains you pick the site which has one owner for an extended period of time. That is the best litmus I have found. The fewer owners, the lesser chance it was spammed.

Well I have different experience. You have to google translate (detect language) and see what actually was going on on the website. Also ctrl+a to check for hidden links in 1px :D With precise checking you can get a good domain. But most is crap :) GL

Another problem: You often can't identify the former topic of the site and there are topics you may want to avoid, especially political and religious stuff. Translate is often barely helpful.

    Algo? Let's play with you.
The point is that those sites we're used as PBN or maybe strong domain moneysites before just as like everyone doing those days, so you shouldn't get it because those are probably de-indexed.

There is a reason why you can find hundreds of high TF/CF and overall good domains on auctions for a registration price, the reason is that they were in a foreign language at some point and no one want's them because they are ruined.

They are usually spammed. The time you need to actually research to see if that's legit domain or not will eat up a lot of your time and you would only find a handful of good domains out of many. I just avoid them.

All domains are not bad, most of the domains has manual action on them, if you verify domain with WMT, you will find PURE SPAM action on it, you will face issue of indexing.

Keep claiming those domains are bad and keep dumping them, i love to keep using them... people who say that there all spam don't know how to check domain history, but if you find a good domain with a mixed bag of anchors english/chinese or all english anchors (not spammy shit of course) and the content isn't used for gaming/porn or pills you can use that domain because if you don't and i stumble upon it, i definitely will.
