I am considering buying a set of high PR and DA domains and using them as a private network, BUT the expiring domains have no backlinks, so when G updates its algo will all the work be dead? How would you get backlinks to these High PR sites? Im looking at PR4 to PR6

Ofcourse they will lose their PR if they dont have links to support the metrics. Avoid such domains and check if the backlinks also have similar PR. If its a PR 5 domain then it must have few PR 5 backlinks(from page).

Toolbar PR is a very unreliable measure. I have got some PR3 domains that have no backlinks and have kept their PR even through an update.

    Ahrefs.com attributes
    PA (Page Authority)
    DA (Domain Authority)

    Majesticseo.com attributes
    CF (Citation Flow)
    TF (Trust Flow)

You can read what they mean on their own respective sites
Apart from these you need to check backlink profiles and domain age for example.

High PR expired domains with no back links is definitely a fake PR, when an update hits the PRs will drop to 0. So don't buy domains with no back links and fake PR. Use filters to sort out fake PRs. If you're planning to build a PBN with expired domains, make sure that the back link profile of your expired domains are clean. Focus on writing unique contents in your blog network, coz its an asset that generates money for you.

    Hi,

If the PR is fake (made via redirect) I believe it will revert to n/a during the next update.

If the domain is expired, they lose PR slowly. I found this out because I just stumbled across a bunch of PR domains I found that expired 2 years ago but still show PR 2. No you can't have my list :)

High PR domains with no backlinks or spammed links will leads to lose their PR quickly. PR will be stable forever if links are natural with good number of backlinks. you can maintain PR by adding fresh/unique contents regularly.

Yes, expired domains can lose their PR. So don't hunt expired domains that based on the PR.

Stop chasing PR it's a mugs game. Go for domains with links from authority sites - i.e. proper authority sites like CNN, BBC, NBC, etc instead - those links have some real power, PR is irrelevant.
