Hello, I'm new to SEO and I'm looking to buy some specific expired domains for my niche to rank on Google. From what I'm reading backlinks don't matter all that much except when it's high PR ranking like PR6 and higher. 1 of those makes up for millions of smaller ones from what I'm gathering.

So when searching for expired domains, what's the best way to figure out which domains have high PR backlinks already?

And if they have a bunch of backlinks how do I figure out the PR to those... how does one acquire a high PR backlink?

Is it highly advised to start with an expired domain from say 2010 rather than a fresh domain when ranking in google? Thanks!!!!

OK, and what about if an expired domain is from 2003, is this better than buying a domain that was originally purchased in say 2008? 2011?

Yes I heard something about PageRank being out, but I heard also that PR6+ links are still good for ranking. I am reading the provided link now, thanks!!!

Age of domains is completely irrelevant. It means absolutely nothing and has no, or completely minimal, SEO effect. It's age of content that matters, which with expired domains, is always deindexed to some extent. So unless you are buying live site which you are planning to keep, then age means nothing.
