Hi, I recently brought a expired domain that deal with "Tickets"

It had extremely good metrics for TF/CF,DA/PA & also RD

The question is, almost all links that link to it is related to "soccer" and "ticketing"

If I build a brand new website on that domain that do maybe "Gifts" or "PBN", and trying to make it as a generic blog that links to my other sites(not ticketing site)

will the SEO impact be hurt badly ? or should I build a new website that focus on Ticketing for that domain.

Thanks, look forwards to your expert advice.

You will give google a headache trying to understand what your website is about :D I personally would not start an unrelated money site on it.

Keep the niche of the site but when you make posts make it relevant to your money sites some how. Let's say your money site is how to cure acne and the PBN domain is about soccer tickets. You can write a post about curing your acne before you get tickets to the soccer games so you look stylish. Something like that

I would say to stick with the original topic of the website, it will be much easier to rank than if you were to switch it up 180 and startup a completely different niche on it.

If you're going to use it for PBN, it really doesn't matter what niche you're going to build. It's the backlinks that matter. Especially when it has authority links.

Keep the topic of the expired domain exactly the same as it used to be. This will ensure that it does not lose the links and that the search engines continue to view it as being related to the same topic. Also make sure to create individual pages for all the pages in the old website that have any good links to them. The content on these pages should be very similar to what was there originally.

From what you've written I presume your money site is about "gifts" and the expired domain is about "tickets", to send a link from the expired domain to the money site, write some content that will link the two. For e.g. how to gift tickets to your friends. In this content, link from the expired domain to your money site about gifts. (if the money site is about a different topic, post it here and we can give you some other examples of content that link the two niches)

From my experience, you will definitely get the SEO benefit. Rather than keeping the PBN site relevant to what its previous topic was, its better if you make it relevant to the money site you are going to link to. That way you are going to reap the maximum benefit.

You might suffer negligible link loss to you domain. The number of webmasters that check for broken outbound links and remove them(specially in case of big authority websites) is very less.

Ref domain about 180. Hold by previous owner for 6 yrs. Never ever drop before.

Authority links from local news site, yahoo, local army site, local uni etc. Pretty good metrics.

Thanks for the great response and suggestion. I thinking of using 404 to 301 to redirect all not found links to homepage so i dont need rebuild the links that was previously build by the previous owner.

Site was dropped due to change in company name and branding, guess prev owner doesnt know how well seo its site is.

It was a soccer ticketing site .

My new site is about gifts . I thinking of using it as a pbn. But i still thinking if i should get article about gifting tickets etc.

IMO, I'll use it as PBN and make a content that is relevant to my money site.
