    Hi,

I have found a couple of decent expired domains and I was hoping I could get some advice on what is the best way to maximise the juice. I only intend on using them for a PBN to juice up my new money sites and the domain names are not niche specific to my money site, simply good DA/TF etc.
    • 301 domain to money site or T1's - advice I have seen is to only do this with a couple?
    • Recreate old site from archive - if I recreate entire site (300+ pages) and only change the homepage by killing all links on the homepage except one to my money site, would the juice be diluted by the other 299 pages which maintain their links everywhere as per original domain? Or am I better to re-create a few pages to create the appearance of the site, only have the 1 external link on the homepage and 301 the incoming traffic to the homepage to maintain the existing backlinks?
    • Create pages with a bit of quality content pertinent to my money site niche so it passes muster and 301 incoming traffic to the homepage to maintain the existing backlinks?
    • Or something else?
Basically my thinking is that the domain index/homepage is what has the most juice so I am currently working on the principle of only having 1 live link on that page back to my site and keeping the rest of the content as is to keep the backlinks live. Some of the other site pages will have juice in their own right so I would also add a link from those to my money site. But then I think it may be better to 301 all those backlinks to my homepage and concentrate the juice flow.

Obviously a newbie but I would appreciate your experience to point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

I wouldn't 301 the domain. First check with Majestic or a similar tool where the juice lays. Most of the time the homepage has the highest trust flow but sometimes it is not the case. So check that first. I assume it is the homepage.

I would not recreate the site with all of it's pages because you loose control with that many. You have two options now from my view:
    • Option 1: Recreate the old site with the strongest pages. Restructure the homepage if needed to avoid too many outgoing links to internal pages which you don't link from. Keep it natural. Link out from the most juicy page. After that add your own articles from time to time.
    • Option 2: Create a new site with wordpress for e.g. and revive the most juicy pages. You can use content from the old site. Like in option 1 link out from the strongest page and don't forget to add new articles.
Edit: Don't kill all outgoing links because that may hurt the integrity of your site from Google's view. It's always good to have a few reasonable outgoing links. SEO has changed and it's not 1+1 anymore. So a simple OBL cut won't scale like you would have thought.

If i were you, I would NOT redirect 301 this domain to my money site. Instead, I will re-build the content to make a brand new PBN, then put links from there to my money site. And according to me, it's no need to use archive to recover the content (as you mention), you just need to use Majestic to detect the correct Category, then build content surround this category.
    Just my 2 cents,

    - 301 - You have to bear in mind, that it's not just links that get passed, but also anchor texts. What will happen is, that your money site will get a wierd backlinks relevancy mix and the anchors will be weird all of a sudden. So you may actually screw up even more this way, so if I were you, this would be a no no in this case.

    - Recreation - Yes, the link juice will get dilluted amongst internal pages, but that depends on your internal linking and so on. I would never in a 1000 years bother with recreating 300 pages of some website from archives. Too much pointless work. Recreate 10 - 30 pages and you are good to go. Or just put in some niche relevant articles, which are of course, relevant to that particular PBN site. That's nothing wrong with that either. Regarding linking out... I surely wouldn't put just one outbound link on the entire website. That screams "PBN!" like nothing else. Rather dilluting your link juice, than raising red flags.

    - Redirecting internal pages to homepage - Yeh, this is a normal technique, I use it quite often. It might be a slight footprint, but with enough diversity it's just fine. Google says, that internal redirects to the homepage from internal pages are considered weak 302 redirects and don't carry much juice, but I am fairly sure this is bullcrap from my experience. Don't believe everything that Google says.
