I bought expired domain and turned out to have a lot of drugs related backlinks. It's not spam I think and in line with the domain name/purpose, only maybe it's from that shady drugs out there.

I created related topics, bu new keyword keep getting sandboxed (not ranked) for months, and it's low competition kw, while other blogs already creeping up the SERP.

Any thoughts guys? Should I ditch the blog or is there any way to clean bad backlinks/getting ranked?

Much appreciated

well, is your domain name about drugs? Also, in general the drugs / pharma niche is very competitive so you would need a ton of powerful backlinks to rank for high volume keywords in this niche
Not 100% exact. Like penicillin -> pensilin.xyz , and I'm targeting low comp like how to cure headache than the drug itself.

1. I am 90% sure that your domain is spammed to death.
2. If you are targeting "how to" keywords in health niche, then those are everything, but not easy competition.

no no. I am not gonna target the health niche. I wanna something normal, natural, and serious.. just like a regular pet niche..
thus, I am looking for a relevant domain.

I was replying to OP mate. :)

Where did you get your expired domain?

just expireddomains.net

Thanks, mate. Flagged my red alerts only with the niche is on pharma and it's Japanese/far east char stuff, but others seem legit, it is indexed, and backlinks are variations of the keyword or the drug purpose. Like that domain is purposely created for the drugs, unlike spammy hijacked PBN, at least from my short experience.

I mean are all pharma-related domains always spammy?

Update, one of the easy keywords is crawling up the SERP, but this is is disappointing for an expired domain, better off with fresh

this is still coming from the backlinks, keywords like "penicillin" or "amoxicillin" (generic name of the drugs).

Oh well oh well. Everything wrong mate.

We have scraped and abused almost every domain worth any salt on the Internet that was available for free registration. Domains that you can find freely on the Internet are not worth the bother as money sites. Never again will be.

They are simply too weak, 99%+ of somewhat decent ones are spammed to death. And 10 RDs won't make much difference.

"Japanese chars" are a sign of previous abuse. Every single time.

Backlinks with anchors like "amoxicillin" are a mark of spam, every single time.

That domain you have was abused more than once. Don't expect it to do anything for all the reasons outlined above. Spammed and low quality.

If you want something decent for a money site, get a few hundred bucks together and go to auctions or buy it from one of the sellers here.

ok, lesson learned for me.
It seems not worth my time to build this as a money site or even PBN, even when some keyword already crawling up the SERP.
Suppose I want to ditch the site, how about the existing indexed contents? wouldn't Google mark it as duplicate if I post them somewhere else?

It will mark it as duplicate. If you want to reuse it, take site offline, wait until content gets deindexed and then wait a bit more and then reuse it.

Just don't do any redirects to a new domain.
