Little help please! Looking at getting this domain to use as money site, VERY brandable keyword. 10+ years old.

    DA: 24
    PA: 33
    MozRank:2.11
    CF:11
    TF:21
    PR:0

    - Link profile looks good with no spam to be found. Anchor text looks very clean.
    - Wayback machine shows the site looking very whitehat until 2008 and then it shows nothing until 2014.
    - The site has been deindexed by google. But the site still has 2 random pages in their index. (one seems to be a namejet holding page, the other is a random blank page)

In my opinion it looks like the site had been registered for a long time, got shut down, and has now been forgotten about. This is why it is not in wayback machine and is not in Google

Is there any way i can test this theory? If you can answer any of the questions it would help alot!

    1. What could cause wayback machine to not cache this site from 2008 - 2014? How do they scrape their results. If its de indexed from google will wayback machine still cache it?
    2. Does the fact that there are 2 pages still in google for site:domainname.com mean it has not been deindexed?
    3. (Just to make sure im not going nuts) - im correct in thinking the site being deleted for years (causing the site to 404) will cause the PR to drop to 0? Even though there are still great live links pointing to it.
    4. Does it sound to you like my theory of the site being deleted and pre registered for years until now is correct based on this info?

    Thanks!

If you checked the links and there is no spam, go for it... wayback doesn't always show exact history... And they are not show anything if the content and the owner didnt changed...

So if the backlink profile is clean, and there is no evidence of anything shady on the site. It looks like its ok to use?

You guys have no idea what you're talking about. If a PAGE has been deindexed it loses it's backlink profile. Doesn't matter if it was a PR8 and the links are still there. Deindexed means links don't county any more. Google doesn't analyze on a domain basis, it analyses pages, so if they're gone they're worthless.

^ agree. I did a small test and bought an old expired domained that seemed to have been used for churn and burn in the past (had authority) and once it's deindexed the links don't count or give any pr juice

Rebuild the url structure exactly as you see it (based on analyzing ahrefs, moz, etc.), and put new content with similar keywords on the rebuilt pages, and voilà. Btw, the best expired domains have a few authority links pointing to the root domain itself.

From my experience as long as there's a page indexed then the main domain will also get indexed when you rebuild the site.

About Wayback machine, its not always 100% working, since ,by placing a robots.txt file on your Web server, you can exclude your site from being crawled from the Wayback Machine. So that's that.
Are you sure you checked for both the www and non-www version on google ? And about keeping the PR after expiration is quite twisty. There are people and suggestions on both sides of this issue. From my experience what i am sure is ,if a domain name expires it loses its PR, but it is likely that as soon as the site comes back up it regains its pagerank shortly thereafter.Because its Backlinks are intact. And that makes perfect sense too.

Check info:yourdomain.extension in Google. This will give you a clue.

Then install WP on it, give it a week, and see if it gets indexed.

If so, safe to build out.
