Hello all, This is my first experimental journey and hopefully by the end of this journey, I can contribute something to the community :)

Lets keep it short and straight :)

I found an expired domain relevant to a niche I was planning to start for Amazon Affiliate. On analyzing the domain with Wayback machine, i found that the domain was previously used as a niche website and the website had top notch content. Some articles are more than 4000 words :P.

What I am planning to do

Here is the list of things I am planning to do:

On immediate basis:
  1. Building a money site on the expired domain. (Note: the domain is not having powerful backlinks but the content in the domain made me take this decision.)
  2. Use the info content from the expired domain as is.
  3. Review the buyer intent content for 2020 and update the content.
Future Plans:
  1. Identify KGR keywords in the niche and create content.
  2. On-Page SEO and website branding.
  3. Build profile links, guest posting anc niche edits (probably use BHW SEO services)
  4. Branch out to sub niches and develop an authority website.
The only thing I can say is that the niche is Outdoor Niche.

Amount Spent till now:
  1. Domain - $9
  2. Hosting - $0 (Already has a namecheap hosting)
  3. Theme - $0 (Already purchased Generate Press pro and elementor)
Total expenses till now: 9$

I will update the progress on this thread regularly so that it keeps me accountable.

My aim is to achieve 200$ per month in 6 months time from this website which I feel is realistic.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day :)

Good luck! I will follow. Seems like you've found a free niche site haha.

How will you find the KGR keywords? Best of luck!

Yeah I was surprised when I saw the wayback machine.

I am planning to use bhw service. I have already used services of @Holzr and it was top notch and he will be my go to guy for the next KGR keyword research :)

If I understand correctly, you intend to use it with content, from an expired domain.
I think that content is someone's copyright, and if you don't have permission from the content owner you may have problems. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I hope it won't have any issues as the domain already dropped and the only problem is if the previous owner used the same content in other websites which makes this content as duplicate in Google's eye. I'm on the same boat and found one expired domain already. All the best @aruntheboss007 ..

Good luck buddy.
Do not quit. Keep failing and eventually you will succeed :)

How many pages or how many words in total on the exp site
The expired website has about 30 articles of about 60k words. Some info articles are 4000 words, most are in the range of 1000 words and the buyer intent articles are 2000 words each.

I made sure that the previous owner did not use the content anywhere else. I even got access to the social media pages since they were created with custom email relating to expired domain :)

Good luck buddy.

I wish you all the luck. Well, intentioned wrote that there could be content issues if you did not have the author's permission. In another forum, I read that the author contacted the owner of the new (expired) domain and asked to be paid for the content, so the new owner removed his content, but the site's position also dropped dramatically. God forbid everything to be right with you.
Good luck

I am just starting with the expired domain content as I said, I will be including KGr content once the site is revamped. Appreciate your concern :)

Good luck! How did you find the domain?
I was randomly searching for a branded name and when I search in namesilo, it was available and to make sure it was not spammed in the past, looked it in the wayback machine and found the domain.

What is Ahrefs dr and RD number ?
Good luck anyway
RD is only 42 but 90% of them are through guest posts and the DR is 9 :)

Ok Guys, here is the small update.

I have started rebuilding the website and it stands like this as of now :)

Nice work so far. I've used this method before and it works well. $200/month in 6 months is a very modest goal, especially if you've got a head-start with 30 'free' articles.

If the site has any good backlinks, make sure you maintain the same URL structure, or redirect the old URLs to the correct pages.

Good luck with the journey!

Good luck bro.

Find a similar domain and asked myself the same questions.

I didn't go on because I thought that if the previous owner had let it expire ... there must be a reason.

But it is not said.

Yes the site has a few backlinks through guest posts and I will be having the same url structure as the previous :)

TBH, even i thought the same, why would the owner let it expire ? Then I thought to myself, why not to try out an experiment and that's how I started with this.. Let's see how it goes :)
