    Hi guys,

Have any of you guys experience of IM and SEO in a smaller country? Such as Denmark, Sweden or Finland? Is it a dead objective creating niche sites in any of these countries?

I see that volumes are much lower, but so is the competition. Of course, it's all relative to what niche you take part in. I've found some niches that are interesting, at least when it comes to the American market. But I am unsure how it could turn into profit in a smaller country.

The smaller the population, the broader your niche might have to be - or something like that. Just a thought.

Anyhow, what's your opinion on smaller non-speaking countries when it comes to SEO and IM? Is it a waste of time?

Please share your views and experiences.

    Thanks!

nothing is a waste of time. Usually smaller countries have a lot less competition so if you start advertising there, your ROI may be really great as your product may have no competition or very few competition there.

It's not a waste of time. Even in smaller countries than that, there's a lot of potential. Competition is smaller and most of all, Google algorithm is not as advanced. Very often, the Google is waaay behind and behaves as if it were 2012, so you can rank easier and with shittier links.

Take a start with few niches and I'm sure you will be happy with results if you rank the keywords and Nargil s right Google algorithm isn't advanced (as in USA and UK) in some countries.

    Thanks for the quick replies.

So that explains why the the top sites in my niche have had "dirty" links since 2015 and still is on top. Interesting, I thought the Google algorithm was universal and not specified for regions.

    Definitely made me re-think!

if there is no comp, you can rank a fresh youtube channel and video with just 1k views an 10 likes to top 5....
