Hi, I got a wordpress blog that's hosted on my own server and can't find an exit popup script or plugin that's any good. Here's what I want:

Does not popup on moving around my blog, does not popup on clicking external links from my blog, but does popup on closing the window or hitting the back button to go off the site.

    Problems:

1 - I've tried every lame wordpress popup plugin that I could find and they either don't work, or can't do the above.

2 - All the exit popup scripts that come up on google require you to post a code on every single link that you don't want the popup to come up for!

Can anyone please help me with this?

    Thank you!

This will open a popup window when ever the user's mouses over the X button or back button on there browser. This is currently set to only popup one time on them, and towards the bottom of the code, just change sitename.com to whatever page you want to open up along with the width/height sizes. I hope this helps.

Ok due to the "firewall" on the site, i cannot paste the script so here is a post where you can read about it.

Here is my solution for WP exit popup and I have included files for the job get done :)

Here is situation there is 2 files in two folders atached in zip file.

    1. exit.php goes to the template folder
2.pop.htm goes to the root of the WP

Go to Manage and create PAGE (not post) name the page and scroll down and choose Exit-Popup template and hit publish.

Preview it and modify html contents in both files as you like. Good luck.

By template folder you mean themes/classic (or whatever theme you're using)? I set it up, Made a page and selected exit popup template, but didn't work for me.

First part you did wright, cause there is exitpop page template

You must copy pop.htm to the root of the WP (folder where you installed Wordpress) there is for example config.php.

Open page you created and there must be Pop UP

Did both parts right, the popup doesn't work. I open my home page, then close it and no popup. Maybe you didn't fully read my original post.

If you looked at the site I linked to, there is a text file link towards the bottom that shows the full source. Just copy, paste and replace the URL of the file you want to pop open. You can also adjust the window size, color, title bar, etc. Can't get any easier then that.

This Works really nice the only thing that sucks is if you get to the top of the scroll (not close to the exite x) the pop up comes up, does anybody know how what code line is it to pop up only on the X or back button?
    Thanks

I am using it on my reg website and putting it on notepad and ftp to my site.
It works ok, as soon as you get to the top of the scroll bar it pops up, it is no where the exit X pops up to quick and I have been trying to find what line of code is used to set the pop up I want to make the area smaller

Aren't you linking to it from your page some how (i.e. onpageclose=blahblahblah)?
