Executive VIP Ideas

Just stumbled on this thread and would like to contribute.

I think that right now the Exec VIP section is really an exclusive VIP section in that there are people that really deserve to be in there (no names since we are not at the point of nomination but they know who they are) but because some of the existing VIPs are quite inactive, they don't necessarily get noticed.

This being said, whoever does get in there should be made to feel included, not "this months winner, he'll be gone in a month".

Regarding the competition (if this is the way forward) then put a very basic concept out there, something tried and tested and open it up for public viewing. Whoever offers the best spin on the process get's the prize. This shows an ability/aptitude to think outside the box and also shows creativity.

Only thing is, I think a lot of the Exec VIPs are coders more than true marketers (exceptions to the rule exist of course) and as such maybe promoting a coder is more of an attractive proposition. .

Basing a competition on one particular skillset is going to cause perfectly good blackhatters to be ruled out.

Good luck with this one :D

lol, well..... i can just see it now...

    Black Hat Idol

12 contestants are voted off one by one and the winner gets to be exec. vip.

    j/k

to be honest...i think the current exec. vip rule is just fine...no need to change it....

i just figure that if i ever get to be exec. vip it's cuz i deserved it...you know.. not cuz i was lucky to win a competition.

I like alot of the ideas on here already. Rather than put out a new idea that isn't as good as what's already here, why don't we do something that combines some things on here.

For Jr. VIP you can either donate like usual, or come up with an amazing method. Other than that, we could have a monthly thread in the jr. vip section where jr. vips nominate people to be pulled up to jr. vip. They include in their post links to 3 or 4 posts by their nominee that they think best represents that persons "personality", be it a method they shared recently or helping out a newbie recently. Something like that. Executive VIPs (or mods/Harro) then look at the jr. vip thread and pick from it 5 candidates that they think should be considered for jr. vip. Then the jr. vips and executive vips all vote in a poll for their member of choice. Winner gets jr. vip. This is done 1 a month (maybe take two people, i dunno).

Same basic thing for Executive VIP but exec vips pick their favorite jr. vips and the same process is repeated with only execs voting.

    What do you guys think?

EDIT: also on what davejug said, those 5 who were picked could maybe be given a method and they need to come up with the most original spin on the method like he suggested.

jr.vip section is already selective , it's true I saw some type of '' newbie '' questions here , but it's juts because I think the guy who write them it's focused on other things .... the self selection with the fee which need to be paid it's enough for the jrvip section honestly .... but like I`ve said up about exec vips , and like I said on jrvip thread it's maybe too much personal selective , take an example scroll up and consider first jrvip which you see i`ll calling him '' biatch '' , next two other jrvips will call me '' biatch '' too , first one will hate me forever maybe , the next two will be my pleasure to hate them and to consider '' they have something with me '' ( btw I really didn't look whos last jrvip who reply here lol :) if you got offence will pass :) ) ....

Thing is .... first of all peoples have asking and are interested about exec vip just because don't have access here , and maybe because saw posts made by the folks with white names and title sound '' cool '' , most of them are old dogs on IM who most probably spend hundreds of thousands hours online working / learning ....

By no means I am trying to sound harsh, but I dont really follow you here. It is getting late , so maybe I am being thick, but could you clarify what you mean? By that I mean the whole "biatch" thing... Do you mean that we are tight community and like to stand up for each other? Or something else?

    peace bro :)

Every month require 3 random vips to nominate 1 person each. Take two weeks to look over those peoples posts and then have a vote to see if any get in at the end of the month.

Or just let the mods pick them all because everybody trusts their judgment.

at one point in time, we did have a monthly nomination/vote once a month, then we decided to do away with that because we didnt want to feel "obligated" to vote someone in just to add new members, we decided to keep it on an "as needed basis" to keep the section from being watered down with new members just because it was an obligation to add some more without any other reasoning. there were some months no one really stood out at the time and would have been wrong to vote them in just for keeping numbers up.

Just get the Exec. VIPs to nominate and vote. I trust that they know who'd they'd like to join them. Don't give it to someone who begs for VIP status. Please... Haha.

    whatever, whatever, whatever

jr. vip, exec vip, super exec vip, super duper exec extreme vip, sexed vip...

what ever you guys decide....let's stick with it... whether it's having contests, ass kissing, or juggling african elephants or whatever..

imo, exec vip voting shouldn't left to the exec vip folks, they should be done by the admins and the mods who have a higher position than exec vips...

cuz the mods/admins have a bit more ownership in the board and can make better judgments....

did i mention how cool the admins and mods were by the way? :smlove2::smlove2::smlove2:

btw...while we're discussing 'ideas' can i offer a new board level?

we have jr. vip and exec vip ....

i propose that we start a ' stupid dumbass' vip

the stupid dumbass vip is reserved for the dumb ass newbs/members that ask dumb ass questions ( like 'how do i make 2000 in a day') and members who are just stupid and plain annoying....ones who post nonsense to increase post count, or flame other pple threads

admins can nominate the stupid dumbasses and jr. vip/exec vip can join in on voting members into the dumb ass club....

.....and as a dumb ass member you are only allowed access to certain areas of the forum....like the lounge, white hat seo, and introductions and, it takes 6 months + 30 quality posts in white hat seo to get out of stupid dumb ass vip.....

maybe this is a dumb ass idea....but if there's gonna be a black hat heaven for good members, there should be a black hat hell for the bad members

There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. -- Even you started somewhere.

We could however, have that section for the annoying ones. I give a vote for that.

lmao Ton, somehow I don't think that would fly, but I'd sure love to see it!!! And they can only post once per day unless it's deemed a quality post in which case they'd get two for that day. :lmao:

if the Exec VIP section has kick ass threads that got moved there to keep the method from being saturated then charge $500 or $1,000 to become an Exec VIP. (assuming the person is already a Jr. VIP and has been here for at least a few months without having any issues or drama relating to them)

If people have to pay a grand to join, then you know they are somewhat successful at BH and not one of these fakers talking about making $500/day in one thread and then in another thread asking if someone can paypal them $10 so they can buy an ebook. Then, of the $1,000 fee, BHW owner can pocket $500 and put $500 towards paying for scripts or some kick ass tools that will only be shared in Exec VIP forum. This way, all Exec VIPs benefit.

the whole concept of giving people Exec VIP status because they are very helpful and sharing in the forums is nice in theory, but out of however many Exec VIPs there are here on BHW, i can count on one hand the number that i would consider as helpful in the forums.

the goal of Exec VIP board should be a place where successful people can talk together without noobs nosing around or other shitbricks stealing methods and posting on DP. Jr. VIP is kinda like this, except there are Jr. VIPs with 10 posts, or Jr. VIPs who joined the forum 1 month ago, and they are no better/smarter then a random noob off the street.

    just my 2 cents.

Here is my take, being the newest ExecVIP of the bunch. As many of us have learned in Jr. VIP, there isn't much in the way of "magic" button methods/ideas. Becoming a Jr. VIP was/is mostly a sign that you have your head on straight, have at least an intermediate understanding of what it takes to make money online, and are generally turst worthy (of course, we all know of the exceptions).

Becoming an ExecVIP is very much the same. By the time someone has reached the point where they are ExecVIP worthy, they are no longer scowering the forum looking for the next big "method". They realize that there is no such thing as magic in this business, and the only way to make money is to work for it. The biggest benefit i've found from being an ExecVIP is networking. Since the day I started in this business i've looked up to a lot of the guys who are still active ExecVIPs, and having the opportunity to network with them, work on JVs, and just talk candidly in the ExecVIP forum about different things has been extremely valuable to me.

These are the people I think should be E-VIPs, people someone who is starting out can look up to and trust with the information they provide on the forum.

What I would hate to see is some kind of mandatory, reoccuring (monthy, bi-monthly, whatever) election of ExecVIPs. If we start just promoting people up because we "have to pick someone", then the quality of the ExecVIPs is going to diminish. It should remain on a need-to-promote basis.

I do believe we should have a higher number of ExecVIPs here, there are MANY people who are more than qualified for the promotion (many i would say even more qualified than myself). I think we as ExecVIPs just need to start nominating more members. I've only seen one nomination in ExecVIP since I was promoted a few months ago, but I would like to see more, in an effort to recognize the members of the forum who deserve it.

Im not sure I agree with changing the current promotion model. I like that you have to be nominated by an ExecVIP, I like that you have to be voted in by the majority of ExecVIPs. I think changing that will open the doors to people nominating and voting for their "friends", or only nominating the people who post the most "methods" (which should not be a criteria: quality over quantity).

In summary, I would love to have more ExecVIPs here, but Im not sure the way we pick them should change.
