Yeah i've heard some bad reviews about 1and1, but they're actually good. Their dns servers doesn't take 24-48 hours to update like GoDaddy but it only takes like 2-3 hours and that's what i like about them.

    I had a bad feeling about 1&1.

Used your coupon and this has to be the only registrar on the planet that takes forever to send you a confirmaiton email.

Made a payment 2 hours ago with paypal. They havent even billed me yet or anything. Wtf is this>

Edit: Fuck op I wish I could neg you. This company is shit. Shoulda searched reviews before I bought from them.

    Nope, still bad.

The only one that is shittier tha 1and1 is GoDaddy, so I wouldn't call the worst too good of a benchmark the second worst.

And that's probably the only thing worth mentioning about their services.

I remember someone using a similar coupon from 1and1 and was charged $13 a few days later. They declined the coupon and charged him the regular price instead.

Never going to do business with this company.

If you go with a churn & burn, then its ok. But if you are planning to build normal (quality) site, then better stay away from 1and1.

I have used 1and1 and network solutions in order to get $0.99 .com domains. At 1and1 I have disabled "auto renew" function, so they didn't charged me for a second year. At network solutions I forgot to do that and they have charged me $45 which is crazy. :D I guess 1and1 will do something similar if you decide to pay for a second year.

If I remember correctly, when I used the same deal a few years ago they made me purchase the domain for like 3 years minimum or something along those lines. Ended up coming to way more than $.99..

if you leave auto-renew on, every website will do that to you, not only network solutions or 1and1

If i were you i would contact them and ask for a refund. Because that process is automatic and your money were automatically taken. That's why i never keep my CC details saved on any website, and i always turn off auto-renew.

The worst domain registrar ever, tried to register some domains never accomplished to do that, also the price over 1 year is huge and if you want to transfer the domain to other registrar you have to pay a lot to them. Worst customer support also!

Yes, it was the first thing I did. I had to send 3 emails to get a refund. Anyway, you are right. Turning auto-renew off is the first thing to do, when you buy a domain.
