I don't start many Lounge threads, but DAMN I'M EXCITED THAT WINTERS COMING SO I CAN SNOWBOARD AGAIN. I only started last year, but after trying it once, I went back around 15 times (in 1 winter!). The feeling of riding down a mountain is just one of a kind - such a rush!

I find myself refreshing ski resort Facebook pages and websites all the time to know when they announce opening days. I live in NYC and usually ride at Mountain Creek, because it's only about a 2 hour drive away, and since I go weekly (almost), that's the best bet. I know there are bigger mountains in the northeast, but I'm already putting a ton of miles on my car and I usually just do day trips.

This winter I plan on riding at mountain creek weekly as I bought a season pass, and I also want to take at least 1 multi-day trip up to Vermont to hit those bigger mountains.

Anyone else ski or snowboard and looking forward to this winter season?

Definitely! I've been downhill skiing every winter since I was three or four years old, and I love it. Here in the UK it's not that easy to find too many "proper" places to go, but during the Christmas holiday I will spend a lot of time in proper slopes!

I hear some of the best ski resorts in the world are around Europe, like Austria, France and Switzerland. Ever been to one of those world famous mountains?
