Examples of positive things crypto can be spent on/used for as I have a negative pavlovian association with it in my mind and wanna change it

I like and believe in the tech behind crypto and own some however due to 'other' things I have used it for in the past I get anxiety spikes thinking about it and tbh kind of feel 'dirty' about even owning it and just leave it hidden away in a corner of my HD not touching it.

I know it can be used for 'anything', like cash, but fact is I haven't used it for anything (besides the odd occasion) apart from the unmentionables I do not wanna think of any more so I only have those memories associated with crypto in my mind.
I would like to re-associate the use of crypto with positive things.

I know that crypto is really mainstream now but still I have that old negative association of it in my mind which is what holds me back from committing more to the crypto sphere even though logically I know it has broken through to be a household fixture.

I think it would help to start actually spending it on some positive things but I don't really know what because I mostly a penny pincher and don't spend money on much at all. Interested to hear ideas though.

Maybe I should start day trading with it. That would be a way for me to use it regularly and get huge doggy treat rewards if I made money on trades :). Of course I could lose money with it but I don't really think it would be a worst association than I have now cos even loses would be learning experiences.

Oh I just thought I could use it for staking on a POS coin like cardano etc. This would have the benefit of positive reinforcement and give a return but with less risk associated than day trading.

You are feeling dirty for owning crypto?:D Crypto is just a tool, like Fiat money is nowadays. It can be used for sketchy deals as well as day-to-day purchases. I would recommend you start trading and earning a few bucks. Just try to not buy high and sell low please! :D

I see it differently. Crypto is freedom. It's the only thing that can't be confiscated. Decentralized crypto is hope. Anonymous blockchains are even better.

Houses, bank accounts, cars, assets or even gold can be taken away. If anyone doesn't see that, they had a good life so far. Let's hope it stays that way :D

OP is indicating he bought drugs and whatnot on the dark web with his coins. He associates crypto with the dark web now.
This is a silly thread.. you're asking people for "positive" things to purchase? Buy whatever you need or pleases you, there are tons of options to buy giftcards with Bitcoin.

Don't trade, you can stake, do yield farming, stuff like that. Trading is more like gambling if you don't have experience.
If you like to play games, check Axie Infinity,. you may earn some money and reinforce the positive side of cryptos

There are a couple of things you could do with the crypto.
1. Send it all to my crypto wallet
2. Send half of it to my crypto wallet
3. Let me decide how much of it to send to my wallet
4. Spend it how you want to

It's just a digital form of currency, nothing to be apprehensive about.

Well if the Currencies I am working on now goes good enough I am going to buy my ferrets their own island as a holiday location for them.

I want to get my ferrets as well their own full time Indian Chef if possible.

Buy my brother his own house or flat for free for him.

Buy my parents a holiday home or island if possible.

What is that currency? BTC in 2011?

I am not allowed to say I think under this forum rules the name of the currency I think.

The other one still getting discussed since the name does not really technically exist since I would become the Programming director for it so we are still in talks with what's it called for now.

If you're feeling dirty about owning crypto, think about it this way:

The alternative currency to hold is fiat currency, which is something that can be minted indefinitely. Look at money supply and inflation charts on the web. What's the point in holding fiat if it loses value this way? Even money in a savings account won't be able to catch up to inflation rates.

On the contrary, invest in coins like BTC with a fixed supply. Amidst all this bullish news (countries accepting BTC as legal tender, brands accepting it for payments etc), it'll give you a lot more confidence in knowing you're holding something of genuine value, that is in limited supply.

I think you miss the point of why I think it is dirty. It is not a logical thing but emotional so the point is to find some other ways to 'wash away' this learned association to something positive instead.

You can get a crypto debit card, load your crypto on there and spend it on anything you use a credit card for.

Lots of options

True but that goes against the spirit of crypto :D It is like you take the chains off with one hand then put them on again with the other :D

Maybe you should also feel dirty about your money in the bank. Crypto is money period.Like everything else in life, what you do with it is a function of the state of your mind. No one can work on your mind but you yourself. Work on your mind, we cant do it for you.

Not really IMO

You're keeping your money in e.g. BTC and out of the banks, yes, you connect back with the traditional system when you spend, but that's it. Just hodling your money in BTC, not a bank account is a big F U to the system.

Dude, you either love money or don't. I'm sure that you haven't sold some organs at the black market for crypto, so I think you'll be fine. Go seek attention at Facebook or something :D
