Hey guys, Im working on getting #1 on Google for a keyword like
"XX invite".

I registered 2 domains name:

XX-getinvite.com
XX-invitation.com

I really dont know wich one to use to rank best. I am using the one with "invitation" in it at the moment.

Wich domain would you go for?

&

Is there a major difference of using "invitation" VS "invite"?

Thanks! ;)

If you're trying to rank for something and 'invite' then I would suggest you use the domain which has the exact word 'invite' in it.

if youre going for the exact keyword phrase "xx invite" i would use xx-getinvite.com because it includes the whole keyword phrase.

People search more for "Invite" than "Invitation"

The thing is that I have been using xx-invitation.com for a month now.

If I use a normal redirect & switch to xx-getinvite.com, will I keep all my Backlinks that were linking to xx-invitation.com ?

I really dont know if it's a good move to switch domain name now...

Well, the "exact" keyword in the domain gives you some extra SERP credit. You can still rank for invitation but it will just be a little harder that is all.

Go for xx-getinvite, it will be much easier to rank for in the long run.
