Alright, since you're reading this the title, I think it converted pretty well.

I've been doing SEO for the past 4 years and I've always seen changes in Google's algorithm. Most of the self-claimed SEO gurus would tell you that:

    - You should have unique content
    - You should have quality backlinks
    - Your on-page optimization must be good

While some of the above mentioned factors are indeed helpful if done right, the real deal behind SEO are BACKLINKS

Since I'm a lazy guy I wanted a turnkey site which wouldn't require me to write content every single day so I launched a service-based site (meaning I installed a script and the visitors are happy since they finish the job without paying for anything)

The keyword I was targeting has / had 322,000,000 competition (yep thats 322 million sites) and on top of Google there were (still are) some very authority sites

Besides installing the script and doing some tweaking (installing some plugins and so on) I started what I prefer to call "Backlink Tornado", getting links from everywhere.

In order to mix the blasts I did from Scrapebox and the forum profiles, it was really needed having some quality high PR backlinks and I got a couple of PR 7 (by paying the webmaster of the site)

There are many sites (especially in third world countries) which have PR 7 and above and the webmaster is just a kid working part time so believe me nobody would notice a link at the footer of the site

To make long story short, my main keyword has 50,000 exact searches per month and I'm now ranked on third position

    Some Proven Golden Tips:

#1 Since I wanted to conquer the USA local search market, I got a dedicated server with a US based IP. Do not get a german / canadian host if your local market is another country

#2 Sandbox doesn't exist! I see tens of threads popping every hour on sandbox. Just blast it harder and you wont even feel anything. Just because your site is dancing on serp rankings doesn't mean you will get penalized

#3 Never stop building backlinks. Think of a new startup / tv show / movie which has a new site and they get thousands of backlinks. Since Google sees continual increase of backlinks it thinks that its another big thing being mentioned on various places

#4 There are tens of sites out there (feedmyapp, killerstartups etc) which you should definitely submit your sites. I was lucky because my site was a service and I got accepted and from that I got like 2-3k uniques in one day because their sites are continuously scraped by other auto blogs so I was getting like free backlinks

#5 Don't be afraid to link other authority sites. I always link to Wikipedia, Yahoo, Google and other giants of the industry. This is really needed because Google bot will see that you are linking authority sites so it would help you.

#6 Last but not least, do not always focus on large niches. For example I purchased a week ago 10-15 exact match domains and all of them had between 2600-5500 exact searches per month and a CPC of more than $2. The competition was like 2-5 million results and by just writing some unique articles my sites got indexed and are on second page of Google with nothing done so far (power of exact match domains in small niches)

I want this thread to be an inspiration for all the newcomers and I only need one thing from you, TAKE ACTION NOW! Think as if Google would change the way it ranks sites tomorrow so don't lose time, act now and start making da moolah!

Any questions you have feel free to ask, I will gladly respond (please only here as my inbox is overflooded :))

backlink carefully by doing more complex backlinks than just blast with scrapebox to 1mil sites, do few web2.0 accounts and blast those with those 1mil sites :)

The reason you are ranking are the PR 7 homepage links. All that xrumer/scrapebox spam doesn't do shit longterm.

In my day job I run a site with 8 million backlinks (mostly natural, not created by us) and to some extent I agree to what you are saying, but when you run such a big site like "mine" it seems that the importance of just general backlinks fade out a bit. It's more important with anchor text carried backlinks and a _whole lot_ of onsite SEO.
Then again, I am not our main expert.
