I was just wondering, I'm sure someone has tried getting the first result on google for their city/town's name. I know it should be possible, but will Google let a website for a town keyword rank higher than an 'official' town website?

For instance, my town's official website is ranked first although there are a few sites under it that seem to have better content and backlinks.

I thought it would be really cool to rank 1 for my town. None of the sites are competitive in any aspect other than their domain age. There are ages of 2003, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2000, 1998, 1998, and a 1996 all on the first page.

Very easy to actually rank over them..i have done it in a matter of a week or two. If you feel that you cannot beat them with quality of backlinks, just beat them with shear numbers IMO. Use dripable or something like that with an indexing service to beat them quickly.

you would recommend just using dripable on its own or a combination of things?

Yeah, well everyone seems to have their own fav things. I guess you could do some social bookmarking and then get a service like dripable or linkpushing.

I've never tried linkpushing.net but I wonder if a few of those would push it close to the top. If not, something like this might? http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...-service-unleashed-dominate-google-today.html

If you get dripable, definitely invest in a backlinking service. Nuclear backlink indexer has a free account if you want to try it. If money is no object, than just use backlinkindexer (google it) it costs like 100$ for the highest package (500urls a day) but it has a 95% index rate compared to most others that have 35%. The only other that comes close is xindexer by Areeb B.
