I've been hovering around BHW for awhile now, purchased some great services, and learned a lot about various methods (Most useful was the introduction to tweetattacks to grow our twitter).

What I want to know is are any of you using BH techniques and/or software to increase exposure for music? If so, how's that working out?

I've always been curious about this .. BH your Twitter / Facebook fan page / Youtube accounts to make it seem like you have a strong buzz online. And shout yourself out to some record labels seems like a good way to get signed.

I run my own music label with 5 artists. Our latest release has been selling decent (In Japan) in a couple stores and on itunes, and I believe found out about us because of some blog blasts I paid for ($50 per blast).

I've tried putting some small money ($100) into facebook ads linking directly to the itunes buy now page, but it's hard to say if I made any sales from it, since those songs were already selling. I didn't notice any spikes in my weekly readouts.

I've tried buying traffic and such, used enhanceviews and such, but it's not real traffic so clearly doesn't convert into a fan, nor a buyer.

Back in the day I blasted myspace comments and used views increasers, but honestly never saw anything from it.

    Does anything actually work?

Is it possible to content lock a youtube video within a facebook page?

I have an artist that sounds JUST like slim shady (eminem) and he has a single with an up & coming artist with millions of legit youtube views. If I could create a page, lock the video and force a like. The right heading may make it go viral. How would you give something like that a boost?

Would like to hear more of it my friend.

Could you PM me that latest release and how do you distribute them my friend?

Our most recent release was from my artist "Dollah D" and it is called "Go Funk YaSelf". It has a heavy throw back vibe to the mid 90's G-Funk era, and features a bunch of talent from the California area. Currently all of our distribution is done via tunecore and direct to retailers. Other than that our music can be found on youtube, and across various blogs.

My goal currently is to increase my sales by 3x. This will open doors to many music grants here in Canada.

Growing an e-mail list, large twitters, and facebook fan pages are the obvious ones to me, but many of the services where you can buy fans, etc, seem to just be fake profiles and don't contribute to conversions.

Were these real views, or ppc/domain traffic?

I bought a package of 20,000 channel views once, and I don't think I got any actual video views from it.

Anyone try the fiverr services that promise to tweet your msg to their followers?

I'm kinda wondering the same thing as OP. I'm a producer / beat maker working on ranking my page..

Anyway, I've tried PPC and got clicks down to 3.5 cents.. Opt-in rate was 10% and I built up a big list of fans. Conversion to purchase wasn't so great b/c the list was worldwide and had a lot of subscribers from 3rd world countries.. which I hadn't anticipated.

So then I made 2 PPC campaigns. One for worldwide Fans and one for conversions and it did alright.

Now going the organic route to see what happens.. I've had some inquiries from exciting labels, but I'm not sure how they found me..

    hope it helps
