Ever had previous owner of a domain try to contact you

I had a guy call me and asked what is going on. Was so random but ever had the previous owner make contact?

There was a tanning salon business i expired domain I was going to buy but I call the owner and asked, your GMB is still listed and your branding is to still active, why are you letting go of the site? She didnt even know...... Of course I really didnt want the site

Yes, multiple times I've had contact from previous domain owners who obviously forgot to renew or didn't even know they had to renew yearly. I've even been accused of stealing domains and hacking registrar accounts before, simply by angry/panicking webmasters/devs who forgot to set up recurring payments or just dropped the ball completely. The more/better expired domains you get hold of, the more irate contact you're likely to get.

I see, and this is soo crazy that it happens like this. Btw us I have gotten so bad I am aware of tons of business that have closed down in the past 1-3 years and I been checking when their domain expires.
 
It happens like once or twice per year. Usually they are completely in a wrong. Only once it was kind of my mess up that I bought domain that I should not have bought. But other than that's everything was fine. Once I sold the domain for good amount of money and once I sold to the previous owner domain + design.
