I was looking at it today and started to start a page, but then just canceled. I couldn't figure out if it's a waste of time or not.

    Anybody exploring it yet?

I doubt it. Better wait until they have generated a little more buzz.

the name is sick for seo. Too much sbdomains, if you know what i mean.

Squidoo ranked well because they had this format:

    squidoo/keywordname

    Ever has

    keyword.name.ever.com

which sucks for seo. No more trustrank, pr juice, or good rankings, unless you build it yourself.

    My opinion? - NO chance.

    But i may be wrong.

I'm thinking they will get major backlinks quickly. Seth Godin knows what he's doing. Probably a lot of people are waiting for the same reason as me. Then we'll see ebooks from people saying how to make an assload of cash on Ever, then it will be spamville and go the way of Squidoo. Then they'll start "InTheWorld.com"

If they get major backlinks, this won't help you at all, because you will have a subdomain NOT a page there.
Think of it as blogspot.com or wordpress.org. The main domains get a lot of backlinks, but this does not influence myname.blogspot.com or myname.wordpress.org

In squidoo they had squidoo.com/pagename, this means you were profiting from their trustrank.

That's why i think they are deemed to failure.

Hmmmm.. I am fairly new to SEO, but I was always under the impression that a subdomain was better. So you are all saying that it would be beneficial for me to set my blogs up under a folder instead?

But each of the subdomains will aquire pagerank too, just like individual blogs can.

It's not quite the same as blogspot either. Each blog is its own subdomain. The subdomains on Ever will have much more content.

You don't get your own subdomain, you get a page on a large subdomain.

I've been tempted a few times, but I've decided to take a pass on Ever.com. Besides there are other web 2.0 sites that can get get you indexed/ranked quickly for your keyword phrase (when you use it as your account name).

To get an idea of what I'm talking about, see the link below - it's for a series of video case studies Howie Schwartz did to pre-sell his "Conversation Domination" program [no opt-in or any of that other stuff - this is the direct link to the vids on his site].

I took a bunch of them in niches that I'm interested in but haven't done anything with any of them yet ... but they're there when I get the time

Thanks for the link. I was looking at one of his squidoo example pages in the video and one of my pages shows on his lens. Cracked me up!

Sure no prob. A page of yours is on his lens? That's hilarious! For his sake, I hope it's just a link to your page and not straight up content jacking w/o giving you credit.
