Depends on what type of event, what is the target audience, etc etc etc.

I hate when people ask these type of questions with no data at all.

Anyways, if you include pretty much all details in regards to the event and the audience then we might be able to help you. I ran an event marketing company for a year, so could put you in the right direction.

Media promotion is your best deal.
Buy some article columns in your local newspapers.
Print out flyers and hire some guy to spread it over the city.
    Spread the word :)

Maybe create fake hot girl accounts and try to friend them with target audiences then just invite them couple times or even message them.

Have you tried press releases? (focus on locals if it's something local)
Depending on your event, use banners, samples, if you want specific categories of people at the event, make flyers, etc.

hey guys, thx a lot for the ideas, but i was hmm searching for tricky and unknown ideas. thats the bhw facebook board.
of course, press announcement, radio announcement, making different images and flyers, posting daily, message friends over pm, share link and invite.
thats ideas we all know or can find in google.

i searched the last 3 month to invite more people. i have some profiles, and my invite is arround 25k people.
if i ask some friends over fb, some dont know how to invite and the others say to much work.

maybee an fb app, that i can give people, that they invite their full friends list with a click. or a website. they login, press invite button, pop up with a list of all friends like in fb, but with a automatic tagging.
so the person only have to press ok.

or other ways to inform people in fb. i have friends, they are realy interested to my parties, but say, hey didnt saw any informations. and the reason is, to many ads, to many news shit, to many invations..

last year i spend 1500 euro in 4 weeks for an event with a big act. only 900 people hit the going button. if i spend so much, their must be 2000 attendies. ok today i know, fb ads are useless.
but i see other events who have 3000 real attendies or more, without any fb add. their must be ways, that are possible, to inform people.

Don't be fooled by 2000 people saying they are going, chances are they wont go! You would be better boosting a post about your event linking to a press release.

Are you located in Ireland btw?
